Sorry for the dodgy audio folks. Geoff was away with his family this weekend and had a few audio problems since he wasn't at home with his proper setup. The overly loud parts are fixed within the first few games.

Hah, I totally mistook the UI at the beginning to mean that the matches were only worth $25 or that it was a typo! Always worth waiting for explanations before jumping to conclusions! I love that extra incentives are being brought into this tournament, it ups the ante!
@TotalBiscuit7 жыл бұрын
We've had several people make that remark which indicates to me we could be clearer in the overlay design. We'll see about getting it redone in the future so as not to confuse people.
@dragmire3D7 жыл бұрын
Ah, I'm sure it's fine as is. I'd say the only reason it confuses people is because the only reference to money made during the tournament before this one was from map wins. The easiest solution would probably be to have a "Map Value" column before the "Bonus" one. Granted, since that column would never change it might be considered pointless info. Again though, it's probably unnecessary. It only threw me off because it was new.
@RMroolty7 жыл бұрын
TotalBiscuit Starcraft and Strategy Could call it the regicide bonus if you open to suggestions
@Cadrid7 жыл бұрын
I like the UI overall (maximum info with minimal clutter) but the "King's Bounty" wording is the only thing that seemed fuzzy for folks that didn't watch the intro video. Maybe something as simple as changing it to "Kingslayer's Bonus" would clear any confusion.

TB , how do u stop players stream sniping. Is it on trust.
@howlingpantera227 жыл бұрын
Theres a delay...
@TotalBiscuit7 жыл бұрын
Twitch allows you to set broadcast delay, meaning that what you see "live" is actually several minutes behind what is happening in game. This is used to prevent players from getting information from the cast. Information that is several minutes old would be detrimental to them rather than advantageous. Players know about this delay so dont bother putting up the stream as they play, since it wouldnt help them.
@wanderingharlow63057 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure if they did Stream snipe that would get them disqualified and banned from participating anymore in ShoutCraft
@AndragonLea7 жыл бұрын
That and it's usually quite obvious when someone DOES stream snipe. You see them start one strategy and then - with no scouting whatsoever - swerve over to a different strategy that perfectly counters what their enemy is building. Anyone unprofessional enough to use cheats is usually too unskilled to get that high in the first place. I've yet to see a cheater that wasn't obvious.
@CountPenta7 жыл бұрын
Well... if you've run into a cheater that wasn't obvious you wouldn't know it beacause it wasn't ... obvious.

Liberators seem so broken... They are out so early and do so much damage...
@TotalBiscuit7 жыл бұрын
I'm not so sure about that. They can be powerful, no doubt, but because they can't move and fire, they have to deploy in order to attack, you have time to pull out of range before your workers start dying. In these games you see Liberator harass doing very little actual damage. In many circumstances a banshee, which is cheaper, can do a lot more damage. Proplayers in particular have got very good at avoiding Liberator damage to their worker lines and there are far more effective ways to kill workers in these matchups as a Terran than Liberators. That's map dependent of course, some maps are better than others for Liberator harass, such as maps with a lot of open airspace near the mineral line, preventing anti air units from getting too close to the Liberator. As usual, balance isnt a simple thing and you have to take into account a lot of different situations and scenarios before judging whether or not a unit is too strong or too weak.

Is this on a faster speed? That second game seemed to be moving so so fast.
@TotalBiscuit7 жыл бұрын
No they are all run at the same pace. However you may have played other modes of Starcraft which run slower than this. "Fastest" is the default speed for ladder games and competitive play. All of our games are played at this speed. If you've just played vs AI or some basic co-op, you may be used to slightly slower speeds.

Sound problems. There is only one answer. They are using skype!!
@TotalBiscuit7 жыл бұрын
Hah well yeah Skype isnt so great, though it does have a few advantages over other VOIP methods. It's very low latency since it's peer2peer and it has a small amount of noise-gating, which means that while someone isn't talking it usually mutes their output entirely so you dont get unnecessary background noise. That said it is problematic at times and unreliable, it doesnt provide the best sound quality. In this situation it didnt matter since Geoff was travelling and only had a webcam mic, it would have sounded poor regardless of which VOIP solution we used. When he's at home we use a teamspeak server with a very high quality VOIP codec that we both get very low pings too due to its location.
@buzzzerz7 жыл бұрын
I've run into the same problem. it has to do with star craft and Skype for some reason. Although adjusting mic volume is disabled in windows. it also needs to be disabled within Skype. Ps love the star craft content, please continue saving Esports
