U couldn't have said it better, you could never have anything like this today, when these were done people were not racist like today. This was a great roast. This world needs more of this. No one was afended. I watch all of Dean Martin's roast and every one of his roast have black and white entertainers and neither race is upset by what they say. Ali was a very nice looking man.

@@brianseneca3546 I'm 71 years old... I'm from the period... Cosell was a phony... And i repeat... Ali and cosell had an association that was mutually benificial... Friends do things together... Spend time together... Know each others kids... Ali and cosell's relationship centered totally around boxing... And their interactions were on that plane... Cosell used ali's fame to springboard his own... You people have swallowed the press releases and the PR bullcrap... Hell... I didn't know ali personally and even i cried at the 50th... The idea that they were some kind of soulmates is ridiculous... I'm not saying that there wasnt some mutual like... But they were not friends... They were acquaintances... Ask anyone that was actually around at the time... Ali's best friend howard bingham spoke of how cosell used ali to increase his own fame... But you onow what... Believe what you wish... I know better...

I actually met Muhammad Ali when he came to one of our Army Hospitals to visit troops, I was already on the elevator when he got on, I could not believe my eyes when he stepped on with one of his assistants. I already knew he was having issues communicating as told to me by another troop who was one of his neighbors, so I smiled and said Hi Champ, how are you? I could not make out what he said, so before I got off I turned back and said to both Ali and his smiling assistant "have a great day" both he and his assistance smiled in turn and waved. That made my day for sure.

Obviously, there are people who get offended at every opportunity and somehow are always the victims. The golden times you refer to was only golden for a few people. I the real world, those who were the butt of 'harmless jokes' were often the ones who were really suffering from discrimination, persecution, racism, sexism, etc. Painting a picture of society based on what is portrayed on TV is moronic.

OMG, Freddie Prinze had me LMAO and crying on the floor! What an amazing talented man he was! I miss all of these comedians so much! Such love and affection on that stage! When I heard that he had committed suicide, I was heartbroken and still am all of these years! In those days, you could be politically incorrect, and everyone just laughed and showed so much love for one another! Those were the days!

It's so shitty that today's media is trying to separate the "problems" from the comedy.
