@@tifforo1 I mean plague knight did fight off the order of no quarter. His original intentions was to make the ultimate potion but in the end decided to use the potion to destroy the tower.

Are they really so surprised that King Knight quickly turned on them? They did nothing to help him during the fight with the Enchantress despite being perfectly happy to engage KK himself in combat. On top of that, them being there resulted in creating a huge boss for KK to deal with. King Knight might be a jerk in cold blood for all other circumstances, but for the ending finale, his actions were pretty justified. Although with that said, he still deserved every other piece of misfortune to follow after.

Hell, you could even fault his betrayal as King Pridemoor’s fault: he never really shows acceptance to the Enchantress’s deals (only staying silent, possibly mulling it over in his head), up until KP shouts “What would your mother think?” King Knight previously really hated KP for getting shmoozy with his mother, and that little tidbit pisses him off. Sure, he could have swallowed his pride, finished off the Enchantress (although the Remnant of Fate turning him into Drill Knight 2.0/killing Shield Knight would probably happen), and let KP get with his mother, maybe even getting in the line of succession, but at that point? He wants revenge, damn the consequences.

Whoa. So many close calls, but you did it! Kudos and good game. I thought this was an excellent last expansion from the original game and honestly all of the expansions really shine on their own apart from the base game. That is not even bringing up how much fun the Showdown game is too! Shovel Knight and its DLCs will become unforgettable gems if they aren't already!

Kinda of a jerk? He's a complete asshole. He immeaditely turned on all of his friends and even his own mother and refused to help Cardia who was begging him to help her save an entire planet. To me he is worst than the Enchantress, because she's just being controlled by an evil force.

Nah, if you look at the walls on his castle before and after the credits they change. In Specter of Torment he is renovating the castle, so he probably was king for a while. We just don’t know how long.

Work on the game started around 2012, The kickstarter was launched in early 2013, where they raised 311,000 dollars, which was about enough to finish the main game, but not the kickstarter stretch goals. The main game was released in mid 2014, but the stretch goals (like playing as king knight) weren't complete until 2019. The bulk of the dev team worked at the company Wayforward, known for making games like shantae, so they were all very familiar with making 2D games. Yacht Club Games currently has 17 employees, though the starting team was a bit smaller. In short, it doesn't take THAT long to make a 2d platformer as long as you keep your scope in check, but theirs kept getting bigger. :P

While the ending itself is perfectly normal and completely expected of king knight, i think that the final boss is straight up nightmare fuel. It looks like they purposely made it so they can scare as many lil kids as possible
