So it's not Up+Y to use the "dash" (actually called Burst), it's just charge Y and let go. You like holding up so you go straight up afterwards, but if you let go of Y just before holding up you should get the same jump type (instead of dash forward, which is honestly what the game is built around). Anyways, hopes this helps!

Ah, Plague of Shadows… Definitely the hardest knight to control, but once you get a handle on its moveset, it's a pretty good campaign! 1:03:55 That's my main gripe with this game, sometimes it's really unclear if a hole is the normal path or if it's gonna kill you…

Shovel Knight and all of their DLCs are excellent. (Dig was fun, but ultimately disappointing to me since I don't like rogue-like games). I especially loved The King of Cards, because the card game gave me strong Tetra Master vibes.

What are your favorite NES games? I've always been a huge fan in particular of the game Ninja Gaiden on NES, but I haven't played an extreme amount of platformers and can't find anything to scratch that itch. You being a connoisseur of that genre, I imagine you might have some thoughts on that.

imo this was the worst campaign. the other 2 (king knight and specter knight) have completely different levels and even how they are presented. king of cards adds an optional card game and changed the level design to shorter levels but keeps a mario3 style world for the stages. specter knights campaign is built more like megaman with the player selecting the boss and entering it from a menu. tldr: you might consider playing the other 2 campaigns first. this one is more like a dlc. the other 2 are more like sequels
