Capcom really nailed the Disney platformers. Tailspin, Maui mallard and Mickey’s magical quest were also great. Didn’t they also do the Beauty and Beast, SNES Aladdin and Lion king games or only some of those?
@ioncewasmikeyАй бұрын
@StewNWT SNES Aladdin for sure! Was Mickey's Magical Quest NES? I remember an SNES Mickey game that was based around fairy tales I think. There was another one where the opening stage was Steamboat Willy themed.

This NES version has 3 different endings Bad,Good,Best. And it's based on the money. If you get 0 on final boss it's bad. If you get some 5 million you get good ending and best is 7 millions if i remember right.
@dangerkeith3000Ай бұрын
Best Ending is $10,000,000+. There are 2 secret treasures for 1 mil each and then you can go to launchpad in 3 of the areas and go back and replay and keep all your money from the first time. Also if you go to him and say yes when you have a 7 in the 10,000's digit, you get to go to a gem land in the clouds and collect up to $180K (which isn't really that much but it's a fun experience) and Gyro's there dropping the money down.
@emeraldtacoАй бұрын
@@dangerkeith3000 I 'm pretty sure you can use Launchpad in 4 of the areas. Launchpad isn't in Transylvania cause he's too scared to go there, but you can find him in all the others.

Good run! This game is short and sweet! It actually was the first video game I ever played as a kid but it was a struggle back then. I did play this quite a bit, though. So, if you meet a certain cash total, you actually get the "best" ending. I'm pretty sure the hidden treasures are _required_ to get it, too. Also, I think you can get a 2nd HP upgrade in the Himalayas for a total of 5 HP.
@kennikittyАй бұрын
To be fair, most old platformers were short and sweet. They made up for it in difficulty and/or different endings for certain achievements. Ninja Gaiden is a pretty short game, but we all know it's legendary difficulty. Ducktails is not nearly as difficult, but it's not an easy game either, if you're playing it for the first time - especially as a kid. Many old school gamers have been complaining for a while that platformers have gotten too easy. And then Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze came around sending little kids into rage quitting. And the games aren't even THAT hard. 😂 The original trilogy was still considerably harder. It took me years to complete Diddy's Kong Quest as a kid. Still one of my favorite games to this day. ❤

Such a blast from the past, man. Pure nostalgia. And the new (well, by now a couple of years old) ducktales cartoon even has some references to the game! Really interesting to see this game with its obvious gameplay similarities to the later Mickey Mouse games on the Sega Master System. I would love to see some shadow mask effect or similar applied to footage of these (especially) 8 and 16 bit titles, to make them look more like they did when we played them back then on the screens of the time. The unbroken color blocks of modern screens really do these old graphical designs no favours, they never looked like this.
