I was stationed at NAS Miramar from 1988 to 1995 and the air shows were the best part of that base. I remember it used to be free and thousands of people would come every day to see the Blue Angels and to get a close look at our F-14s. I was in the squadron VF-1 Wolfpack and everyone would recognize our hanger as being the one from the Movie Top Gun where they held the class in when Maverick realized the woman he was hitting on at the bar the night before was his instructor! Lol

The show is still free, and there are still thousands (if not tens of thousands) there every day! Thanks for watching and your service!

VF-111 here, and our hangar was used to film the "We should have been truck drivers, Mav" scene...they pass by one of our squadron cruise plaques while walking towards their meeting with Viper and Jester.

This should be the only airport they can play Topgun theme. Nice video. The diamond was very tight on their first pass. If you can blow that up and see how close they got.

What a great job you did at capturing this show, I appreciate the detail chapters it helps in learning the show. I was at the show on Sunday. Maybe see you in Huntington Beach at the Pacific Airshow.

Thanks, I appreciate that! I wanted to accurately portray what it feels like to watch this amazing show. As for the chapters - I always appreciate them when I see them on other people’s videos so I try to always add them! And yes - see you there!

incredible footage!!! im from san diego now living in texas and I have been going to Miramar since I was 3 years old. Super sad that I couldn't be there for this airshow but this video makes me feel right back at home!! Thank you!!! you've got a new sub!

Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for watching! I have been missing out on Miramar for years but now it's a can't miss show!

He bounced the nose gear on that landing! Completely intentional and badass
@aerospacehorizons13 күн бұрын
The bounce is actually part of the flight plan! I can’t link it here because KZbin won’t let me, but there is an interview on my channel with M1 Josh Soltan (who’s flying in this video) where he breaks down the Bert Demo and specifically says the wheelie pop is intentional every time. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! I convinced one of the Marines to let me leave my recorder out in the field beyond the crowd line. Thanks for the rec!

@@aerospacehorizons Oh man, yeah that's what I'm trying to do but I wasn't sure how you pulled the audio off so thanks for that tip. Also if you're trying to remove music check out the paid version of Davinci Resolve 19. You can remove guitars, drums, vocals, bass or isolate certain sounds. It's not perfect but can sometimes remove stuff enough to probably get around the copyright.

When did they install all that industrial looking crap on the flightline? When I was stationed there with VF-111 in 92-93 I don't recall any of that being there...

You realize that every Blue Angel Narrarator learns the exact same scripted narration and has to learn to do it in the same voice and cadence as all the others before him?...if you go back and listen to other teams they all sound exactly alike.

what a horrible waste of money this crap should have been paused to support the people suffering on the East Coast!!!! These narcissist get first class rooms off base because on-base rooms aren't good enough they get police escorts to the locations 100 rental vehicles FREEE FREEE FOOD and they are allowed to have people watch and they get FREEE food and drink. Should I add the danger involved in air shows and how many people have died ? Hell, just the demo oil for a single show is over $10K (imagine what the cost of the jet fuel is) These crewmembers are taken from war fighting organizations to participate in this crap
