Corbin plays Usnavi differently than Lin but he's pretty good. Better than I thought he would be. This Vanessa's voice is much too strained. They could have done a little better.

This is actually really interesting! I would’ve pictured Corbin as a better sonny just based on his vocals, but I don’t mind him as usnavi. His pronunciation of some of the words could be improved upon, but I really like his energy as usnavi. I feel like their Vanessa sounded and acted too old and it didn’t have the same effect as the original Vanessa.

You're absolutely right and I'm sorry! I tend to bitch about things from time to time (lol)... I will have to say this though, that when I saw the entire original cast, each one of them stopped after the show and spoke to us fans and took many pictures; Not that I doubt your experience with them. Who knows, actors live a very busy life. Some days they're up for it, some days not.

don't know why people are hating on the girl playing vanessa - she's pretty good. usnavi... not so much. he's slow, pronounces everything correctly and doesn't sound latino at all. go check out the cast of in the heights in london, they're amazing! not only do they speak like they're from the heights, the leading man (played by sam mackay) sounds just like lin manuel!! shame that chris jackson had to be on broadway next to corbin bleu!
