I really appreciate you showing us your off days too. I'm not even close to doing the kinds of jumps and courses you do with Laragh, so it's truly such a comfort to see that even at your level with your brave mare, you two can still have some tough moments. I also think you kept a great attitude about the whole day and tried to make the most of it, which is all that matters.

You are so hard on yourself! Laraugh was definitely not feeling it but you ended up getting some nice work out of her AND you sat all the shenanigans beautifully! I know it wasn’t the jump practice you hoped for but I love that you take her out to all these different places and give it your all whatever mood she’s in. (My horse won’t load on the trailer we got for him last July. I had these wonderful plans to take him out on hacks, clinics, etc but he’s having none of it!). Personally I love seeing the ups and downs of real equestrian vlogs so it was absolutely worth watching! Hope you’re stuffing your face, out in the sunshine! Keep going! 🤗😁

You get my like for this very special training - but you deserve at least three for excellent riding !!! To ride a calm, fully cooperative and obedient horse does not show, whether you are a better or not so good rider. But today, riding Laragh not in the mood, perverse and stubborn, refusing to accept aids she indicated clearly in her body language. "I don´t like the training. I shall make it difficult for her - let us see whether i can make her give up." In such a critical situation many girls would have given up disappointed. But you reacted in an excellent way, accepted the challenge and worked hard, using your legs effectively and pushing her forward. You started the fight an won !!! At the end there was perfect jumping through the line. You had convinced her that you really wanted her to perform - which iin the end she did. And there was no need to silently cry insideOn the contrary, riding such a difficult and in the beginning nearly unmanageable horse so sucessfully should have made you proud - you deserve our respect and admiration.

You did awesome! You stayed on and kept schooling her until she was going over them confidently, so that's a win! My boy was off the last few weeks, spooking at literally everything including a patch of grass that didn't look like all the other grass 😒 Today he was absolutely awesome and didn't spook at all, not even at the bird that kept flying in and out the arena windows 🤷♀️ They have their days just like we do. You did great though so don't worry about it ❤

This is genuinely super reassuring to see! I've had my pony for 11 years now and honestly the other day I couldn't trot a single lap of the arena without him spooking and trying to buck my off whilst neighing. He's so, so up and down in the spring-summer with the spring grass! And it just makes me feel like a novice compared to the event vloggers I watch. So this is actually great to see. Best of luck with the event!

Well, if you ever tire of eventing, Laragh clearly could go western with these sliding stops. ;P But all joking aside, it was impressive to see how you dealt with Laragh's off day. Just adjusting the pattern and the tasks, so you both could still end the session on a positive note, even if it wasn't the exact positive note you had been hoping for. There will always be next time for that. :)

Sorry you didn’t have the training session you planned, if it makes you feel any better my horse who has jumped around a 1m course at Hartpury got eliminated at fence 3 in the SJ at our BE90 on the weekend! She’s in season too & really struggling with this one. Hopefully it will pass soon though & Laragh will be back to her usual self by next weekend! We were recommended to try an oestress supplement so trying that now. Apparently their hormones can make them freeze. Bloody mares 🙈

Well, that wasn't very nice. Poor Fergus thinks he and Laragh have a "thing" going, but holy guacamole, she can't keep her head on straight when Topaz is around! I see some heartbreak in Fergus's future. Seriously though, she wasn't in the mood, but you handled it beautifully and rode really nicely and ended on a positive, confident note, so well done! On another note, you have a real gift for creating sound tracks! I feel like you could do that on major films if you are ever looking for a career change (but I don't know what your career is, so maybe you do that already...).

At least Laragh was improving as you progressed; which is better than getting worse as you go on, right -- lol :) How long is a mare's season/and is it twice yearly or every month? Does anyone here know? Also, have some of you had mares than switched to geldings with you next horse to avoid further mareness? Thx for your answers.
