Turning airplane mode on and off also finally worked for me. However, not the 1st time. I tried all the solutions and none worked. But then read the comments so turned airplane mode on and off for the 3rd time. It finally worked. Thanks

I just found another way! If these suggestions don’t work, There’s another video of the same type but focuses on resetting the call fowarding function, but it works for call forwarding, call waiting and caller ID. Go into settings> mobile>Mobile data options>Voice and data> Then disable volte. Go back to caller ID and it should now be able to be switched on/off. Hope this helps!

Had to go through these options multiple times, but it did eventually work! When it worked, I was on the "show caller ID" screen itself and used the buttons on the pull-down menu thingy. 😊

1. go to mobile settings 2. Mobile plans settings 3. If you have two, leave the one with spinning wheel on and disable the other one 4. go to Phone settings 5. try it again, it should work now

I had this issue. I reinstalled ios, restored my phone, called apple, called my mobile service provider, spent hours on the phone. None of it worked. Today, I went to this video and followed solution 2 exactly, and it fixed. All I had to do was turn aeroplane mode on and off. You saved my life

I tried the first three, no help. Then I read somewhere else it may be your carrier that has caller ID disabled. Called my carrier, sure enough, that was it! Took her all of ten seconds to re-enable it so I now have the toggle and can turn it on and off at will. My advice: check with your carrier, FIRST!

Make sure you turn Airplane mode on for at least 30 seconds, before turning off and trying Caller ID.

Absolutely nothing worked from this advice or many others. So I tried disconnecting my VPN. Bingo. Fixed immediately. Don’t know about other VPN’s, but AVG is crap in this department. Block common sites and just a pain.

Nope. Nothing worked. Apple should really have sorted out this problem by now. This has been a common problem for years. My daughter's iPhone 8 works OK, yet my 7 and my other daughter's 6 has the problem, and Apple keep passing it off as a carrier problem.
