Story time, a little over a year ago I clicked on what I thought was and Outside Xbox video and to my surprise I was greeted by Ellen and latter in the video Luke joined in as well. By the time the video ended I was just as baffled as Andy. I began to watch more and more Outside Xtra videos and now I can positively say the Ellen and Luke are two of my favorite people on the internet. They always brighten my day and make me laugh. :)

Theory: Luke was never rescued from the shipping container. Evil Luke has subsumed his position and is working undercover. Normal Luke, whom we will term Luke Prime, eventually escaped by breaking the lock, hence Ellen's ease of escape this week. He's currently plotting his return to the sofa which will culminate in a heavily CG, difficult to stage and immensely expensive to film battle between the doppelgangers. I assume that's next weeks show.

Some guide points on designing a Dark Souls themed monster (follow as many of those as you'd like, but the more the merrier): - Give it as many limbs as you can. Make them stick out of places that seems unusual. Even better if you place animal limbs on a humanoid. - Spikes, horns, and teeth. The more and the bigger the better. - Very heavy and inhumanly big armour with an imposing helmet. - It's got to be at least 3 times as big as a human, though better if it's at least 10 times bigger. - Either no eyes at all or many many eyes. - The weapon it wields needs to rival the size of the creature itself. - Tentacles!

It's not high budget. It's using the engine of a high budget game. That's like saying Portal was high budget because of the Source engine...except I shouldn't be comparing it to Portal because that game actually had interesting mechanics, a storyline, humor, and was actually fun.

rashkavar Yes but the engine doesn't make the game for you, all the engine does is render graphics, calculate and manipulate physics, and link sound projection with action response. Also, depending how the game is built, it may also render cutscenese. What makes MGSurvive particularly cash grab low budget, is that anyone who played MGS5 can see the obvious re-use of assets. From the map, to the gear, almost everything is just some rework of components from mgs5 and mgs5 online.

I was under the impression that the big cost for games using purpose-built engines is the development of that engine. That said, you're right: most devs reuse their game engines for a while, changing up the assets they feed into it but running on the same core mechanics. So it's even more egregiously low budget than I was suggesting.

Sorry false pronaunciation the trailer came out on January 12th. The game comes out in March 2018. Edited it.
