To be fair to Blizzard, the first Pandaran was Chen Stormstout in Warcraft 3's Frozen Throne Expansion. He was an optional companion for Rexxar found in the firs act of the Founding of Durotar campaign titled 'To tame a land'. This pre-dated Kung Fu Panda by about 4 years so they had the idea first.

In a way they're similar.... Not really the same though. Especially if you look at the "Kiryu" Mechagodzilla. It's sort of a robot, but built using the skeleton of a dead Godzilla(there was more than one and someone found a dead one). Kiryu well.... it was kinda possessed by the ghost of the original Godzilla or something.

Acheron and Tiamat are actually fantasy things as well. In D&D lore, Acheron is a layer of the Nine Hells, and Tiamat is the dragon goddess of Evil.

Tiamat isn't evil... She just thinks Dragons should rule the world and everyone else live as their slaves... if they live at all. In the Neverwinter game it's stated that her dragon cultists actually get brought back to life by her after players kill them.... repeatedly, daily, by the dozen. There's actually a dialog thing where you have a conversation with an NPC about how the Dragon Cult hasn't been wiped out yet when hundreds of them get killed every hour. So Tiamat has some good qualities. Oh and Warlocks have a quest where they have to go to Acheron to prove their skills as a Warlock.

I never played any of the Doom franchise, but I did play a game called Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold. That game was much more horizontal than Doom if those clips are anything to go by, but it did have an element of visual verticality in ceiling-mounted turrets, and it is as you say, you line it up horizontally, and you hit it anyway. It's just that you can only actually hit it with two out of the five weapons. And speaking of that game, I tended to stick with the Auto-Charge Pistol. It was silent, it used no weapons energy (all the other weapons drew from the same energy reserves, which you replenished with energy packs), and it was typically powerful enough, so for a while, at least, I would be able to get by just shooting enemies before they even knew I was there. Of course, I only played on the easiest difficulty, so... maybe I would've gone with something more powerful higher up the difficulty scale...? Oh my goodness, I think you just explained why Frog (Water) and Marle (Ice) both have three healing Techs. I think I would have guessed heavy metal band for Acheron just based on it being the name of a thing in Greek mythology. I could be wrong, but it seems like WoW uses names made up for it rather than taking preexisting proper nouns...? Incidentally, if I start typing "ravenho" into my search bar, "ravenholdt" is higher than "ravenholm"... but on the other hand, typing it into Wikipedia has "Locations of Half-Life" as the top result, while searching for "ravenholdt" there brings up only the article on Brian George, voice of Lord Jorach Ravenholdt in 2016's WoW: Legion. And again, Tiamat, which I primarily heard of because of Final Fantasy, but it's also a goddess in Babylonian mythology, and has been used in a number of video games... just not WoW. So good job on getting that right. Oh, okay, looks like Azrael is either an exception, or an indication that they do use preexisting proper nouns more than I was thinking.
