Regarding C. tigrina - I've been under the impression that they are spring bloomers, and that is one characteristic that differentiates them from C. guttata . Also, I for one typically prefer the natural look of non "improved" orchids, so the ruffles in the petals to me is a plus.

It’s certainly possible there’s guttata in this one! I need to look at the condition of the sheath to know.

jenmanii has quite a powerful fragrance, especially for such a small plant, I can smell mine from some distance even outside. I was actually shocked the first time it bloomed at how potent it was. I think, though, the Brassavolae take the cake on fragrance. B. cordata (subulifolia) really pumps it out after dark, there is no mistaking when it is in bloom.

I don't know that I've ever smelled jenmanii!

​@@SVKLOrchids I'm surprised you don't have one. The fragrance is really lovely, very floral with a touch of citrus. Just don't get a coerulea, the petals and sepals are very pale and the blue on the lip is nothing to write home about. The semi-alba are really pretty though.

@@YaneisiRodriguez-y3h I think I got the tigrina from Miller Tropicals in Dripping Springs and the maxima came from Clown Alley Orchids in Houston, which is no longer around, unfortunately. 😢
