i prefer this version to the english, maria lucia sounds like such a better fit for elsa and some of the lyrics fit better than the english "throw yourself into something new" compared to "show them who you want to be now" just fits the message of her being her own answer better.
Love the video and great job with the translation! Maria is just so amazing! Fun fact: Maria (alongside Jolanta Strikaite who voiced Elsa in the Latvian dub) was actually pregnant during the recordings of this movie.

@@JixieDyeAuthor As a Swede, Danish is in a very strange place. If I don't pay attention Danish is like any other language I don't know but if I pay attention I get what she is talking about. However, sometimes the words are so twisted from Swedish, especially in pronunciation, that it's hard to make out what she is trying to say but when you get to see the lyrics it suddenly "ooh, that's what she's trying to say!". It becomes really clear what languages you already know affect your capabilities to learn other languages. For me, Danish probably wouldn't be that hard but then I again, what's the point? We understand each other more or less and they know English and I know English. So I am left with learning German's over-complicated grammar. Danish's pronunciation must he really hard for you, right? I have heard people complain about the Scandinavian languages' grammar but trust me, there is a lot stranger grammar out there. It must be pretty lonely knowing English and wanting to learn the closest languages? French is pretty close with a lot of words coming from it but I have heard a lot of meaning has been twisted. Dutch is apparently similar but I mean it's Dutch. How is it from your perspective, would love to hear your insight :)?

@@8is I like the Danish pronunciation, in fact, it's one of the major things that drew me to the language, but it is challenging, especially as I don't know any Danish people that can give me pointers and can clear up a few confusing bits of grammar for me. I learned French for A Level (the qualification after high school) but because I was being forced to learn in a specific way and I felt like the sentences weren't ones I would specifically use I lost my love of it. Though I struggle with Danish I still haven't lost my love of it because I love its quirkiness and as I'm not studying for a qualification I'm free to learn in my way and in many different ways.

Hello! Just so you know, the reason why the Danish and Norwegian songs sound so similar, is due to the fact that Norwegian and Danish sound very similar! They come from “Roughly” the same area in Europe. The differences between them is just simply pronunciation of words, a few different words, different meanings to a few words, and grammar. If you know Danish, with a little bit of studying, you can learn to speak both, and vice versa
@FlamSparks8 ай бұрын
No, that's not what I meant. I mean that the lyrics seem to have been adapted together, unlike what happens in other products, _with the same languages._ It's not a matter of how closely related the languages are, thank you very much. It's a matter of stylistic choices made for this movie specifically.

While Lucia's bold, bombastic voice alone is impressive, it is with her character in question that it can't work. Elsa is young and naïve. Her puppet also looks like it could break at the slightest touch. Lucia sings as if her character was an experienced mother giving advice to her child. This voice with the right character, this performance would be extraordinary.
@srenpeterjensen62144 жыл бұрын
Askmolnet i don’t agree. This is close to the final on the second movie. Elsa has grown a lot with everything she went through. She might still be young. But she was never naive. She always had great powers that she in the beginning couldn’t control. It was a curse. Through the two movies she learned to set herself free, control her powers and use them positively. She is now a young powerful woman. Maria Luisa’s voice captures that perfectly.

Hey Danes, why am I never seing you anywhere but here in your own versions? On ranking videos, multi languages, etc. I see a Swede here and there but never do I see a Dane. Fellow Swede asking :).
@raindropsneverfall4 жыл бұрын
That's a very unfair question. I don't see many Swedes on other videos except when the title says it is going to revolve around Sweden or Scandinavia. These videos usually attract the younger generation; they just want to hear the Danish version because they don't have access to services like Spotify. I know my nieces use KZbin a lot for listening to music.
@8is4 жыл бұрын
@@raindropsneverfall Have you scoured the hundreds of ranking videos there are? Because I have and very often we have Swedish and Danish battling it out, usually in the top 5. We are talking about every video from 250.000 views to your 900 views ranking video and there you see the odd very thankful Swede but of hundreds of videos, you rarely come across a Dane being thankful. Which I find strange, you would think there would something around half if not more since Maria is so beloved. Not everyone connects with Annika's (Swedish) acting/expression of emotion (which is fine, I don't condemn anyone for that) but everyone can appreciate a good singer like Maria. Not to say that either of them is bad at singing or acting. So yeah, we are not talking about your average niece who likes their own version, we are talking about us who are obsessed with every version imaginable and want to see what other people think and talk about it to rationalize our thoughts and opinion. You know I have a saying to Danes I would like to say but I never find Danes in the right context. It would be when Danish is top 1 and Swedish is top 2, then I would say that Denmark might have Elsa but damn do we have Anna. I never get to say that xD. Anyway, I just find this whole ordeal very strange.

@@8is sorry but i agree with mads! and just cause we see all the videos that you mentioned doesn't mean we have to comment on each one of them. Cause yeah i have definitely seen way more than is probably healthy and i do like or dislike a lot of comments while reading through but seldom comment or actually answer any of the comments. I wouldn't say it is strange at all, i feel moste people just read through and like what they agree with
@8is3 жыл бұрын
@@kanina52 So why are Danes less inclined towards commenting? That's the question. Alternatively, there aren't as many Danes out there as Swedes which is still a possibility. Nevertheless, it's very strange, why wouldn't people watch those videos and comment their opinions xD?
@kanina523 жыл бұрын
@@8is I don’t know as I cannot answer for all danes as everyone is different. Personally I just don’t feel the need or want to comment. I could also ask the same why are you and from what you’re saying so many Swedes inclined to comment? I also still don’t think it’s weird or strange as not everyone, actually probably the majority of people who might comment (teens and adults) wouldn’t look at videos about a cartoon which could explain a lack of comments. Also there are many people from all over the world who don’t necessarily comment (especially telling from how extremely few comments are on videos compared to views)
