At least in Japan, the lower you bow the lower on the chain you are. Not sure how it would work in Egypt, but in Japan the further you bent over in a bow the easier it was for (since they were higher ranking citizens) samurai to behead you if you displeased them previously, so him bowing a teeny bit less than them was respect but still showed a higher social rank at the same time Social customs are... interesting

I watched this movie on AMC and they had alot of facts about the film that would show up during the film on the bottom of the screen and this particular bit was done with sand paper taped to Ardeth Bay's cheek to make it work. amazing what they do to get such a small detail to work.

A small mistake... Jonathan's hands are tied up in a folded position till 2:56 - 3:02 And when he walks down, for a moment, he freely swing his injured arm - 3:03 to 3:07 Then in the next scene his arms are tied up - 3:08 onwards
