Couldn't you take them at chokepoints uphill in the second battle? Considering the two high rank matchlocks you had, you could go for a mass rout maybe.

Unfortunate battle but I think two things could’ve gone differently, after defeating the first army you could have withdrawed directly and secondly, why first siege without the support of that second army in the rear, I’m taking about the one that was briefly blocked by a metsuke lol nonetheless good battles
