I'm surprised Chuggaa didn't show the Black 2 version of the frigate. It doesn't have the kitchen with the projector screen but it does have warp panels between different rooms. Up until now I was not aware of that version difference

Someone probably already said this but there is a game “Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore” it is a spiritual successor to the Zelda cdi games. It is strangely spot on and might actually play alright. The animated cutscenes are also very true to the old cdi games as well. Worth looking into, maybe a run away guys series down the line.

12:04 Did you notice? There's 4 bunk beds. Each Bunk Bed has 2 beds. 4 x 2 = 8 Beds. So there's a bed for Blaise, all six of her Pokemon, and there would still be one bed left over if Typhoon needs a rest. Or Typhoon could take the room next door at 12:13 and there would be enough room for him and all of his Pokemon as well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that about the old Team Plasma. I always got the vibe that, while some of the grunts didn't seem to care about N's goal at all, just as many seemed genuinely dedicated to the ideal of freeing Pokemon. It leads nicely into the divide that you see in the sequels, those who were loyal to N and those wanted control like Ghetsis did. It's why I think this is the best team we've gotten in any (main) game.

There's one for the Plasma Frigate, Entralink, Royal Unova, and even the now destoryed Route 10. I wasn’t aware of how vastly different the frigate is between the two version. In black 2, it’s a bunch of portals and the way to open the gate is by finding the switch through those portals, essentially a tedious labrynth

I’ve brought up how I’ve played a hard mode mod of White 2 as my most recent playthough a few times this LP, so today, I have a story for my recent time at the Plasma Frigate. You know how you make Zinzolin not a pushover? Give him a Hail team with Snow Cloak and Ice Body Pokémon that constantly get lucky and freeze your Ice resists. That’s what kept happening to me, and half my team were Dragons (Hydreigon, Serperior, and Ampharos. The ladder two were given Dragon typings). The other half were either resistant (Azumarill and Magmortar) or were not fast enough and frail (Espeon and Cinccino). Yeah, that was fun. Still love the Frigate Base, and this juiced up battle gives me something else to remember it for

Something i noticed when playing along in black 2: the ship layout and puzzle are different! You go into the upper staircase and the puzzle is a simple warping puzzle to flip switches. You can still get both the zekrom and reshiram seen entries and the magmarizer (instead of the electirizer) for magmar.

I like how the version’s respective antagonist also has their communication with you cut out just before you reach the battle area. Combined with the static, it makes you feel well and truly alone Real talk: for as many weird decisions as ORAS had, I actually REALLY like how they handled the storytelling. I’d argue it does a better job of weaving Mega Evolution into the story than XY did, when those games introduced Megas in the first place. And the simple change of not having Maxie and Archie use the wrong orb takes them from looking like idiots to just not realizing the full scope of monstrosity they were trying to harness.

So begins the climax of the Team Plasma story. It's been a long time coming, but at last we can bring their evil plans to an end. Having replayed this section recently for the first time in years, it was not quite as good as I remembered and the climax of the previous games clears it easily, but there's still a lot of fun to be had here and the Plasma Frigate just a fun location with great music. Zinzolin, though... if you hate the cold do much, why do you use ice types? My guess is he uses his suffering to drive his evil ambitions, or something. Not that it really matters. It's not like Zinzolin is the best developed antagonist in the series... or even this particular game, for that matter. Looks like Team Plasma is jamming the comms. Can't have anyone knowing their evil plan, can they. If chugga had not mentioned that the password was random, I don't think I ever would have realized. He's getting the same one I got. Since this is where we officially see that Team Plasma has captured Kyurem (though it was obvious that was what had happened), I just want to mention how cool of a twist it is that the evil team already has the box legendary in their possession. Usually, thats the end goal of the villains, not the basis of their actions. It's a neat twist, and considering gen five was basically the peak of the villain plots in this series, not something we are likely to see again.

Can I just say I love chugga's team? It feels like a good mix of strong classic pokemon, and powerful young guns of the fifth gen. Like we got our starter sure, but we got a gen 3 dragon, a gen four electric, and a gen ONE water type paired up with a gen five fire fighting, rock, and psychic flying type ALLLL untied under one trainer trying to save there home region...it's weird...but it feels so...powerful in a way. Maybe it's cause we could only use gen 5 pokemon in black and white 1, maybe it's cause newer games don't really have that many new pokemon, but here it feels a lot more powerful to have these pokemon from across the generations teaming up to fight against an evil team...and I love it.

Honestly Chugga, this is why I have always loved Gen 5 as a whole. You get to see every plasma grunt from a different lens of life. The grunt that you talked who thought you were a new member and told to take any bed you'd like. You can see it in two ways, one is that this new iteration of team plasma is so large that that one part of the team doesn't know what the another is doing. Or this specific grunt has a natural caring personality that really cares for pokemon. They could have been a pokemon nurse that has seen the harm of what some trainers do to their pokemon, and joined team plasma to help take down bad trainers, who abuse their partners.

Honestly, I never felt like most of the grunts in the original BW games were all that into N’s message Mostly because there were multiple cutscenes of grunts outright abusing Pokémon immediately before/after spouting their spiel about saving them Granted most of that was near the beginning of the game, I guess they wanted you to _think_ they were all regular bad guys before finding out they had nuance?

honestly I think the dialogue about the mud all over the floor was probably supposed to be dialogue for the other guy who had the Scraggy, Krokorok, and golbat cause if I'm right the scraggy could have a water type move, the Krokorok had a ground move, and the golbat had the wind to blow the mud all over the floor

It's still 80 Power, which isn't horrible! I think we just think of it as weak because it was 100 Power in Gen 1, and got nerfed after that.

To be fair, Dig is an 80 power move, so when it hits, it hits hard. The only major downside is the turn of wind up, making your next turn predictable. That also means that slightly weaker attacks do more damage over the same amount of time one use of Dig does AND can possibly have more utility (Bulldoze is a prime example, being a 60-power physical Ground type move that effectively does 50% more damage in two turns than Dig while also dropping the target's Speed twice).

Well heres something also interesting about Kyurem is that the signature moves they put on Black and White Kyurem are in the data for the original games which i find is really interesting just like how Zygarde's signature moves are in the Gen 6 games despite being unused until the Alola games. The God Stone item could lend credence to that fact. Also the TM for Retaliate is on the bottom right side of the ship on the upper deck

In the original black and white, Plasma felt like a mixture of people. Some members would steal Pokemon but only for the sake of liberating them while others would gleefully kick a Munna. The evil Plasma of this game feels like it only took in the Munna kickers so naturally they care only about destruction not revolution.

Sometimes I think that some of the grunts are only apart of an evil team is purely due to peer pressure. Like maybe a future grunts friends joined because they believed in the messages that team plasma spoke, but those messages didn't quite resonate with said future grunt. But they were peer pressured into joining because they didn't want to betray their friends. Or maybe the future grunt joined because of said messages, but team plasma wasn't what they thought it would be, but they can't back out of it now or else team plasma will go after them for essentially betraying them. Just food for thought.

I was honestly expecting him to ruin the atmosphere by going to evolve McFly immediately but I guess he's saving that for next episode. Also, that undercover grunt is amazingly stupid. I was half expecting the actual grunts in that scene to point out thet can hear him blowing hia cover when I first played this game.
