Never worked with an expanding tool. I have always used the crimps for pex. Is there an advantage?

Hi Craig I like the battery operated expansion tool. It fits into tighter spaces. There are two types of PEX. A and B. You use the expansion rings with type A or Wirsbo PEX. The stuff from Home Depot is typically PEX B and it takes the crimp rings. They're not inter changeable. They do make a hand operated tool for PEX A but it's a bit awkward to use. The tool I used here was about 400.00 a few years ago. Things are changing again and the latest is the Pro Press tool. The one is about 3500.00 last I checked Hope this helps

@OldGuyREI I deal with frozen pipes in my area. I still sweat the copper, I have a manual propress tool but sometimes easier to sweat fittings imo. When remodeling I usually do pex (b as you describe it). All part of the passive income stream. Haha.

@@CraigKammanMN exactly let's do whatever is easiest. Pro press is nice for those times when the water just won't stop dripping. I don't always have wonder bread with me for those times😅

@@OldGuyREI now that is 'old school' trick of the trade. You are legit.
