Getting rid of almost all of my personal belongings, showing and explaining everything. I don't really have a lot of things because I've already decluttered them some time ago, but I decided that I can live even more simple and minimal lifestyle. I like an extreme minimalism lifestyle and I understand that it is definetely not for everybody but I'm very comfortable with the amount of things I own. I'm not very attached to my stuff exept for sentimental items and gifts from friends and relatives but I'll declutter them also. Watch till the end to see the final result!📚
Hope you like this video! Leave a comment down below if you are struggling with sentimental items too!💛

Loved that you can actually count what you own. Wise young girl. I am just sixty and heavily into decluttering but will never be a minimalist. I am not that strong. So I admire people like you, making our planet lighter and happier and more meaningful. Seeing your videos makes me a vicarious minimalist! I do watch other content like yours, but I am enjoying your very confident early steps, and your philosophy, a happier philosophy full of love and caring rather than selfish close-mindedness.

Me and my husband had to start minimalism. There was one time he was like I DONT HAVE SHIRTS TO WEAR! I counted all his shirts that night and counted 74 shirts and 8 pants. I told him afterwards, he was very disappointed with himself. We started to sort out his clothes, sold some and then donated most. Now he has 15 shirts and is very happy with it. He gets to wear all of them in 2 weeks (just in time for laundry) and we have so much closet space! IT is the way to go

@sebumpostmortem
@sebumpostmortem 2 жыл бұрын
OMG!!! Why a sentimental feeling for something like a theater ticket or a handwritten postcard should be called a problem? Why must I live with the pain of the lost? There is a big difference between living buried by unusefull untidy shit and living surrounded by your beloved memories organized with beautiful storage stuff wich warm your heart. I truly hope she won' t regret in the future 😰. Why should you "admire" a lifestyle/practice that does not make you happy? I have never ever heard a minimalist admire us for keeping, organizing, labelling, ordering and rewatching our things with nostalgy and LOVE. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Good for her if she "needs" to get rid of her wedding earrings. Good for you if you keep the words of the postcards and the ticket from an opera or a ballet. You don' t have a problem, Mina. 🧛🏻‍♀️💜

That is so true that our mind keeps our memories. I usually don't keep souvenirs or a lot of sentimental items because I don't need the objects to have the memory; sometimes I take a picture of the object before giving it away, but I don't really look at those pictures anyway. My memories are in my mind and I am happy with that.

You will probably do this a few times as you get older. About 30 years ago I did the same thing, I had over 5500 books in a spare bedroom, I donated all the good ones to my local library. Three years ago we moved house, I had over 150 hand saws in my shed, I had that many tools it took me about two years to donate them to various sources. I am still slowly getting rid of stuff, clothes are the things I tend to struggle with, I had over 200 ties, I have got them down to 80 and my wife still wants me to get rid of more of them. I had drawers full of new shirts I had never worn, 58 shirts still in their packaging went to the charity shop. My wife is doing great, she rarely buys handbags anymore, she had hundreds of bags and purses, hundreds of shoes, yet she only ever uses the same three or four. We are slowly changing the way we live, trying to be more organised.

I would’ve framed the wedding earrings (because if sentimental value) on either black, navy or white velvet and put it in a small shadow box frame or regular frame and hang in my bedroom in a small area. I’m like you because I like to discard what I’m not using. You’re so young that you’ll find one day that you’ll regret getting rid of some of the things. I would’ve put Grandpa’s camera and the NY lucite cube and books on a shelf for decoration in your living room. That’s just an example. These are things I wouldn’t have thought of when I was your age but now that I’m much older, the ideas come to me more easily.

Oh! A good "souvenir" from your travels might be a reusable shopping bag. My husband and I do this, and I love the French grocery store bags because they are large and strong, and hilariously have a special loop for your wine (in Alberta Canada where I live you cannot buy wine at the grocer). They also remind me of the 2009 family trip for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary to France (my mother's home country) with my parents, two brothers, our spouses and my nephews. I met all my relatives and got to see the house my great uncle built and the canal where my mother did the family's washing.

Interesting that you have the book about Голиаф (Goliath). I was only reading the story today. I've read it many, many times over the years but (as so often with Scripture) something jumped out that I hadn't noticed before. "When the Philistine got up and came closer to meet David ..." If Goliath "got up" he obviously must have been sitting down, and that's what I'd missed all these years. And there on the cover of your book Goliath is sitting down!

Beautiful zenit camera! Just thought I’d mention if you get a digital camera you can buy and adapter and attach the camera lens from the zenit to that. It’s one of the most sought after lenses to use because of its beautiful character that you can’t achieve with modern camera lenses.

Good afternoon, Vika. Excellent job decluttering. Not sure I could let go of family things, books, souvenirs and gifts as well as you are, but at this point, I don't have many of those kinds of things left, either. Fifteen years ago, I went from a 1400 sq ft house in town to a 32x8 travel trailer rv in the country. Since then, I've downsized more to a bedroom size space, but I still have some things to go through and decide on. Thanks for your wonderful videos. They're very inspiring. Blessed be.

That is huge that your hubby now wants to de-clutter his things. Have you considered framing any of your postcards? Especially those black and white ones? I used to keep cards from my sister - she always buys the best cards (artistic, or with messages that just capture the moment in time) and I used to keep them in a box, then saw a "home organizing video" where they grouped them and hung them up. I love it. Now I have my sister close to me every day.

My friend here in the United States recently bought that same breast pump and it was super expensive! I think she paid around $600.00 for hers. Great job on letting go of the things that you no longer want. I also have bought Walden a couple of times but find that I have trouble reading it.

Hello from Poland! A box for contact lenses should be changed from time to time - that is why they add them to the lens liquids :-) Also - maybe don't throw away those things (less waste). Maybe you have some group on fb where you can "advertise" stuff you don't need anymore, but someone may want to have it. We do it in Poland, it is very popular and fun! Greetings, keep broadcasting :-))) It is very pleasant to watch and listen to you.

Do you have access to a library near you? Watching you declutter your books made me think of this question. I love my library here in the US, and it allows me to try so many books without spending lots of money on books or having cluttered bookshelves! (Although, I do still own way more books than I need!)
