I remember how exciting it was to watch these videos for the first time. Watching them now is such a difficult reminder that this gorgeous boy is gone. I can’t imagine how bittersweet these memories are for you and your mom. George will be loved and missed forever 💙

Aww he was so good! Little rough patches here and there but everyone has their off day every once in a while. I've been watching your videos for awhile and I love how you show the reality of being with horses; there will be good times and there will be the not so good times where improvement is needed. That's one of the reasons why I love watching you. Keep up the amazing work you too!

Molly Greenwood This honestly wasn’t an off day for him, he beat his last dressage score even with the lead error and was very good in a very tough environment especially for a 4yo with such little experience. couldn’t have really asked for more from him.

@@Milestone-Equestrian That's awesome! I understand that he is young and I think he did amazing in the show setting; I would have have been nervous my self. I'm still inexperienced and have a lot of things to learn. I didn't mean that there was a lot of bad moments; there was a LOT of beautiful moments in the whole video. I apologise for any inconveniences I may have caused and I will keep learning and change my point of view. Thanks for letting me see the error of my ways! 😁

Nice, steady pace for a young horse. Definitely has potential to move up the levels if he was to be a dressage horse.

Here Soo many poeple are riding these 17hh British warmbloods. And I am here jumping with my 80$ quarter horse who I saved from auction. But somehow we make quite the team! His first time jumping was amazing!

That water looks so inviting. The two of you look really good together, Shelby. Especially those stylish white johds, you look very spiffy indeed. Pity he spooked a little, but for the short amount of time you've had him you've done wonders. He's so much more collected and really doesn't look at all like an injured rescue case. I'm so happy you've rescued him. I just know he'll end up in a happy home with a caring rider. He's come so far, and he looks so good. I hope he has a lovely winter.

I live for your mom’s comments. Her description of the site is 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼, it almost make us feel like we were there with you!!!! It was really amazing considering the few training you had with him. He is such an amazing horse and I hope you keep him forever, just so we can still see him evolve. (Yup, this is selfish!!!!). I wish him a wonderful time off now ^_^

Great job team George! Seeing Shelby letting him run in the field makes me think he misses the track though. Thank you for taking him and "fixing" him and allowing his leg to heal properly and gave him a new lease on life. You and your mom rock! Thank you for allowing me (and your other viewers) be a part of yours and George's journey.

The wind noise drowned out a lot of the commentary :( George is such a lovely boy, he's only young so small blips have to be expected - I wonder what he will be like in the ring in five years time, Shelby has set him up to be an excellent mount.

Congratulations on this achievement! He looked amazing and it's so impressive how he deals with everything without much of a fuss at all. You've done an incredible job with him and it'll be lovely for him to have the winter off and mature more. Are you concerned about the quality of his hooves during winter as you're pulling his shoes? I'm not sure what sort of temperatures you're expecting back home or quality of the footing but I assume if he's been shod for a while, pulling them will cause a period of discomfort (like with any horse really that has their shoes pulled after a while)? Don't get me wrong I 100% agree with pulling them so he can have a comfortable holiday :) I'm just curious about how you'll deal with it and will you keep him barefoot afterwards or have you not thought about it yet?
@Milestone-Equestrian5 жыл бұрын
Amy Most racehorses get their shoes pulled every winter so he’s used to it, he has good feet.
@Amy-s15 жыл бұрын
Shelby Dennis i see, i thought race horses had a different type of shoe though. Perhaps thats only in the uk idk
@Milestone-Equestrian5 жыл бұрын
Amy They wear aluminum shoes but it’s still a shoe. It doesn’t make their feet more like to hold up to being barefoot than they are after removing steel shoes.

Hey Shel....pls forgive me if this sounds offensive in any way(i used to ride rehabs for a BIG German dressage trainer back in the day) but I'd(if I was you) keep him going for about one more month and see if you can get the hind end and back more engaged BEFORE turn out. Sometimes if you don't push them(gently)thru that post-op guarding they will keep that as a movement pattern esp. if their turn-out is in winter. You've made such miraculous progress and he's such a great soul!!!!! Congrats!!

With all due respect, I think I know what’s best for him given how closely I work with his chiropractor and vets, I think it would be extremely unwise to take advice from people who are on the outside looking in over the people who’ve been involved the whole way along.
@rebeccaferguson77345 жыл бұрын
Hey, I basically agree with both of u. I GET IT! Its just I have such a strong hunch in this case that I took the risk of looking the fool, arite. PLS consider......
@Milestone-Equestrian5 жыл бұрын
Rebecca Ferguson I didn’t funnel thousands into the rehab for this horse just to ignore and disrespect the expertise of the people I paid to make him right. If you’re a horse professional, you’ll know that no one online could possibly have insight that outweighs the professionals who’ve not only viewed his entire case but worked with him in person on numerous occasions. It’s insulting to myself and them to push the idea that your idea of what’s best for him is more educated than theirs. There are aspects of his rehab that have never made it online. You do not know enough to make the claims you are so please have some respect for us and realize we’ve done our due diligence to ensure his wellbeing and have constructed our programs with the advice of several veterinary professionals, chiropractors and training professionals.

Look again at the dressage vid = "canter departures".....at least, run this input past your ppl!!!! It's NOT uncommon for other professionals(perhaps ones with more experience than you or your team)( I also worked on American tracks under TWO HoFers before dressage)to be able to give good(perhaps career saving) input from just a glance. BTW, I have watched all of the George vids you posted and was concerned about just this eventuality. Once again, I basically totally agree with u2(or others with similar comebacks!!!!)but if you continue to be consistently defensive instead of interactive, other possibly helpful ppl will self-censor. I thought long and hard before attempting a conversation bc I had seen mostly dismissive replys. I wish you and yours all the best.
