Personaly i think, that the QT idea turned out pretty well. The "O" is just a little bit to bold for me compared to the "T". Don't know why you did it, but it looks wrong in my eyes.

Awesome work, Will! Thanks for sharing. With the QT one you mention something along the lines of "showing the client what works and what doesn't work". Do you mean that you actually show the serif fonts and options that don't fit? If so, isn't that risky? What if they fall for something that was a terrible idea? I'm sure you've got the skills to explain and convince them to go with what you have in mind, but still... Thanks again for sharing, I'm wishing you all the best for 2021!

Yes, he will usually show the ones that didn’t make the cut during a meeting and explains exactly why they wouldn’t work for the brand - if you explain well why they would be a poor choice it’s not likely they would fall in love with it! But there is an element of risk I suppose! You know your client best and if you think they might be likely to do that you could always skip doing that! :)

I just had a nightmare client who asked me to work on a project for a corporate firm for them. I did it with little to no brief other than “modern” which made little sense in their industry. I completed the project and two weeks later they came back to me with someone else’s work, that was absolutely awful, and ASKING WHICH I THOUGHT was the best. They were badly copied versions of mine that didn’t at all match the industry they were in. I give up 😭😭😭

You QT system is remarkably similar to a Brazilian telecom's system, named Oi... even the to letters are very similar, not the type, but the letters. Q-O, T-I It might have been by accident or one of those instances where you don't even remember seeing it before... dunno. Try searching on google images for: Oi logo
