This episode is the second time Gabi demonstrates one of the main reasons modern earth makes using child soldiers a war crime: It punishes your enemy for being decent and humane. Someone hesitates, not wanting to hurt a child, and gets killed for it… by the very child they spared.

Not a single time I can go through this episode without at least shedding a tear for Sasha, such a sad episode. At least there are a few more chill-ish episodes before it all goes insane non stop until the end

Eren always had this hatred in him, but he couldn't do anything about it because he was still weak, and people he loved or cared about him died. Now that he has knowledge and power, he is taking matters into his own hands

I really don't think he still has hatred at this point, especially given what he said to Renier in the basement. It's basically which side he loved more. He loved Paradis more, so he had to keep moving forward, although he's clear that "inside the wall, over the sea, it's all the same".
