Some people really love Floch legitimately because he's a confident fascist and the things he says are technically not wrong, they are just to the extreme and he fights for what he believes in. Personally, I really don't like him, but I understand why he has sheeps called fans. :D

In Connie's perspective: Eren is literally genociding the whole world for his people. He choose the island over the entire humanity. So, what's ONE kid? Connie choose his mom over this one kid. If they can make justification for Eren's action of sacrificing the whole world for the island, surely they can also make justification for him sacrificing one kid for his mom, right? Hence the timing. It's not out of the blue.

the timing was also convenience. He loves Armin and Eren, he would never suggest either of them be sacrificed for his mother. When they had Zeke "captured" Connie was in no position of power to get his mom a meal out of him, she didn't have royal blood. it's kind of 50/50 if connie would kill Annie or Reiner to get his mom back at this point and he would need to overpower them or Pieck. The fact that a titan power is right in front of him in the shape of a unconscious little boy he doesn't have attachment to is too good to be true, it is his only chance other than taking out one of the Marlayan shifters for him to bring his mother back.

@ yeah. And his decision is resolved after hearing Jean's justification of Eren's genocide. At that very moment everything lined up perfectly for him to finally brings his mother back: the logistics of it (just like what you said) + the justification

Kohta Yamamoto inherited the impossible role of filling Hiroyuki Sawano's shoes, t some how pulled it off. The track "Footsteps of Doom" perfectly evokes the emotions and epicness of the rumbling. AOT has to have one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard, it just fits the material perfectly.
