Fun Josh Weitzkin story. I got back into chess because of Josh. I used to play chess at school (was never good but enjoyed it a lot) but hadn’t played for years, then a few years back was at a dinner party with one of my company’s investors. Investor introduces me to Josh (his chess coach) with the words “This is Sean, he’s a pretty good chess player” (even though we had literally never talked about chess) and I had a really nice conversation with Josh. So then when I got home I thought I had better get good at chess just in case I met Josh again so I didn’t embarrass myself. Didn’t meet Josh again though.
