Omg I love this so much hahah I haven't even finished but you are so funny and full of life! I am currently a sophomore going into junior this fall and have recently been OBSESSING (and I mean OBSESSING about being a PA). I've had it in my mind for about a year or so now but I now just had my obsession. Hahah I was actually thinking of writing something like your cringey letter but now I don't think I will be lmao

Your statement was interesting and creative. In the UK not sure it work but I get the gist of telling the reader about you and what skill you have.

Hi Adanna! I think you should address in a video mistakes that applicants commonly make, including using the title "Physician's Assistant." I know that to a lot of PA admissions committees, this is a huge red flag in the application.
@AdannaThePA7 жыл бұрын
DeidaraNSasorizKitty thanks I'll work in that video in one if these upcoming weeks. It is true that you should know the lingo and history behind the profession. Great suggestion.

Exactly and if I was admission committee I would automatically skip over anyone who types "Physician's Assistant".

Ooh girl you thought your personal statement was bad? Mine was way worse. It's so bad and cringy. When I first wrote mine, the people who read it said it was fine but when I looked back at it a few moths ago, I was so embarrassed lmaoo but your second personal statement is really good!

Hello Adanna! Do you need Personal Statement Essay proof-reading?
@MHSMagicLuver6 жыл бұрын
I forgot mine exactly but I know I wrote about my spina bifida because that is when (i was 16) i realized I wanted to be in the medical field. And i also talked about my aunt with mental and physical disabilities which is like I understand people are different and I’ve been around that my whole life and I love her so much and would do anything for her. And what my healthcare experience I have brings to the table and my psychology degree.
@SlaveofChrist_6 жыл бұрын
I just read your personal statement and was interested in the reason you left out the religious aspect in your final statement. Was this a personal choice or advisement on how schools may look at applicants who have a religious worldview and whether they are accepting of this in the current culture, especially in the medical field as a whole.
@BreReshone20127 жыл бұрын
Hey Adanna did you use an outline to also write your Personal Statement I'm currently writing mines, but I'm at a road block of where to start, and how to keeping everything flowing.
@AdannaThePA7 жыл бұрын
+Breion Brown no I didn't use an outline. I did do a lot of research on different personal statements and that's how I got my first personal statement but then after doing some more research I realize that it needed to be better and that's when I asked for help.

Hello Adanna I'm a rising college freshman and I am really unsure on what science major I should choose for PA school . I was considering interdisciplinary studies where I could create my own academic major at my university . Any suggestions ? Btw, I really enjoy your channel and I encourage you to continue to upload . It's guiding young future PAs like myself & inspiring them as well .
@AdannaThePA7 жыл бұрын
Well the beauty of PA school is that you really just need to have the required the prerequisites completed to apply, so ultimately you can major in anything, just as long as you take those classes. However, in my opinion, Having a background or foundation in the sciences, biology, biomedical sciences, allied health, those generally prepare you well for PA school because your study habits will be developed in those majors. I'll make a video on this with more details maybe next week! Hope this helps in the meantime.

Hi Adanna, I tried to open both links to read your personal statement and copied it into my browser, however it didn't work. Could you please post a dropbox link or Google doc link? Thank you!

Besides all of your stats, that last sentence in your personal statement definitely got you in, it was superb! When would you recommend starting my personal statement and the CASPA overall ? I am currently a freshman so I feel like it's still too early.. but when is it really the right time to start ?
@AdannaThePA7 жыл бұрын
Samuel Restrepo Don't start CASPA until you're ready to apply. things change in your life and experience from day to day, so you'll have to constantly update it. Start thinking about your PS next year and Start writing it your Jr year of college. then you can tweak it your Senior yr and be ready to send it off at the end of your college career.
@MHSMagicLuver6 жыл бұрын
Also you have to redo caspa every year (not everything but some stuff and reupload your personal statement) so there’s no point of doing it before it opens for the session you are applying for but when you’re ready to apply y usually opens in April. Get it started and everything ready to be sent out June 1st. That was my problem. The earliest all my stuff got completely submitted was October. Last year it was December 1st. Thank goodness I got in this year.

First paragraph you said "physician's assistant" isn't it just "physician assistant?"
@AdannaThePA6 жыл бұрын
Yes Abby it is physician assistant, and I learned exactly how to say it once I went on interviews but by that time there was no changing my personal statement furthermore it is ingrained into our head in PA school so as I'm telling you all don't say physician's assistant it's all from my experiences and what I've learned along the way.
@estherudo60385 жыл бұрын
Me too! I applied to PA schools 2 years ago and I read my old personal statement and thought what the heck was I thinking? lol I called my dad and was like my old statement was complete trash. I literally made all the same mistakes you made. It sounds pessimistic, contradictory, poorly worded etc.
@nyamozelle40154 жыл бұрын
It wasn’t that bad to me. They probably dismissed it once they read “physician’s assistant” with an apostrophe s

Hi Adanna, first of all thank you for sharing your journey with us is been so helpful, especially for me. I know this may be much to ask you this , but I’m applying this may for pa school and I would much love it if you can consider to read my personal statement and give your thoughts on it ?

Physician Assistant’s** Not physician’s assistant.

I did like your new intro paragraph, but I’ve also read that you don’t want to use something like “since I was a little girl, I’ve wanted to be a PA”
