One of my friends described Homestuck in a way I really liked. Most works, tv, movies, whatever, have "rules" that govern the world and its narratives. Superheroes don't kill people, Will Smith says "dayum," whatever. Homestuck's rules are like a very elaborate game of Calvinball-no-takebacks. There's a neat story, and there are neat characters, but really the author makes up the craziest shit, sticks with it, builds even crazier shit on top of it, and that is called Homestuck.

Sorry to jump on an almost 10 year old post. But in the short web story ‘17776: how football will look in the future’, Game 27 is a thousands of years old game of football which, due to elaborate loopholes in an ever-growing list of rules, gradually became unrecognisable and chaotic. For me, Homestuck is like Game 27. Simple rules and events in the early pages had huge and unforeseen outcomes, and later events only made it a bigger pile of narrative spaghetti.

I'm A Continent, Not A County! Undertale didn't steal anything from Homestuck, and in my opinion, it is very different. The story isn't at all similar and one song named Megalovania is the only similarity I can find, which is actually a remix of a song used in Earthbound that Toby made. All three songs are similar, but still have their differences. Also, I have heard that Hussie had supported Toby Fox and his game

Sure, a small portion of homestucks music is like the music in undertale, but that's because Toby Fox composed the undertale soundtrack, and was also responsible for some music in homestuck. You can't sue a guy for copying himself. As for how undertale and homestuck are similar in other regards, maybe I can see it if you note that both utilise a lot of pixel art and have a distinct art style, but... The story and characterisation are so different, dude. That's just me, though. I wasn't immediately reminded of homestuck AT ALL when I played undertale. The fandoms are similar, but I didn't see the two as similar until I found out that Toby fox had made the game, and I recognised his name.

The first few pages are pretty boring (yet funny) but it eventually blows up into an AMAZING plot.
