He shagged too many girls and women. One of which was his ex who was about to marry some architect i recall. This show was amusing at first, but it's waaaay too Hollywood even for Hollywood, he got laid waaaay too easy..It just got repetitive..His bad orange spray tans made me chuckle lol

David Duchovny played Hank Moody in SUCH a natural way, it felt like watching a documentary Definitely one of the best TV shows of all time
@ouch7424 күн бұрын
I never knew this show existed but I don't subscribe to any tv programs just got high speed internet. Having said that I remember David Duchovny from the X Files, he looked perfect for that. This....I agree he does great with but I see him as a bit average Joe in looks and I dunno he's talented but just doesn't have that sexy look. Maybe it's not all about that but it would make a whole lot of his interacting with pretty women more believable.
@HipHop4Life71817 күн бұрын
@@ouch74 Women aren't as shallow as men are fam. Once you understand that, then his interactions with women would be perfectly believable for you. Charm, charisma, confidence, and some other C words can get almost any woman. One thing I learned from personal experience is that the gift of gab can take you a longgg way.

@@brunaolrs Yes, detached. He is able to be detached from all of them. Because he is actually emotionally attached to Karen. This show was brilliantly written, but possibly you need to have the Rosseta stone for translating it. It is pretty obvious after several episodes, but the surface plot is basically Hank's embellished, fantasy, over the top version of his life. Nearly every single woman wants him - or hates him and THEN wants him. He is always witty. Every single pick up line is perfect. Every farcical situation is enhanced to the n'th degree. Every single questionable thing he ever did, or unfaithful act he committed, is not really quite his fault - he was dragged into it by someone else, or the woman in question forced him to misbehave, etc. It is Hank telling the story from his over the top, narcisistic perspective. But what I like best is that even while the comedic situations are all the more hilarious both for how insane they are, and how the plots almost miraculously absolve Hank of a lot of the responsibility for all the bad things he has done, and all the bad choices he has made, the sadness still shows through. So the show is not JUST the hilarous, over the top comic fables this guy spins about himself - the writing also lets the real story peak through. You could say that it shows that, try as he might, the real sad, disatisfied and tragic parts of the story of Hank Moody were going to force their way into view. He is self aware of his constant attempt (and sometimes failed attempts) to NOT be self aware, if that makes sense. But I also love that they never have any Hank voiceovers to break the spell, a brave choice. That is his story and he is sticking to it! In short, the show is exactly like what I imagine one of Hank's novels would be like. Or anyway, that how I undersood it, and I'm sticking to my story. Not everyone's cup of tea, but NOT just a simple comic sex farce either.
