Everyone knows that J Kidd was masterful with the ball in his hands but his defensive abilities are not talked about near enough... fantastic footwork, quick hands, the willingness to accept a challenge nightly and work his ass off on both ends of the floor. That's why he's top five pg of all time.

J kidd is the epitome of a point guard . he can dominate without being selfish . he knows when go on the offensive at the right time .keeps his team involved always great on both sides of the ball and gets the most outta the least talented players .perrenial nba all star, all nba and all defensive teams , 2nd all time in assist and steals . retired 2nd in 3 pointers when he retired for a guy who they said couldnt shoot and his best attribute getting his teammates easy buckets .triple double threat. Last but not least any team he went to became winners it's wild he didn't get a MVP award during his 2 finals runs .out of all the top point guards in history he did more with less can't remember really playing with a legit prime all star says it all . 2nd best point Guard of all time cause defense counts in my book .

J. Kidd the original Mr. Triple Double. One of the best point guards ever. Made Dallas into a winner really wondered what would have happened if J Kidd Jamal Mashburn amd Jimmy Jackson would have done if they were all on the same page it would have been special. He also turned the Nets into a title contender went back to Dallas to get a championship. Just a bonafide winner wherever he went no doubt about it. I Didn't know he played baseball in high school. JKidd is the PERFECT Coach for Luka. Luka is young and wears his emotions on his sleeve sometimes to a fault which is expected for a young superstar like he is, but if you go back and just watch JKidd highlights from like 01-03, this dude used to give my Pacers FITS and he would never seem rattled or ever shaken no matter what was going on and he’d all the sudden have 30,10, and 12 Assists all within the flow of the game. JKidd was always under control and always had his composure during those years especially and he can teach Luka how to harness his emotions better on the court so that Luka can avoid riding all of those waves throughout the game. JKidd will go down as one of the biggest influencers on Luka’s career when it’s all said and done.

JKidd and Steve Nash were and forever will be my favorite PGs of all time!! growing up in the 2000s seeing these two epitomize what it means to be a true “floor general” didn’t need to score or keep the ball in there hands for 15+ secs but still had a major impact on the 48mins..keep it going ATS!! great pod

I will never forget how Jason Kidd beat the defending champion Duke in 1993 NCAA. It's on a last second highly contested layup. All game long, I thought Duke was winning. Duke offense was simply so smooth. Yet, Kidd led scrappy Cal somehow always finds a way to stay in the game. Never let the lead ran away. I always thought Kidd was Michael Jordanesq in that final play. If he had better 3 point shooting earlier in his career, he would definitely got to Finals earlier. The 3 point shot he displayed in the 2011 playoffs was smooth and dependable. Earlier in his career, defender was always sagging when Kidd has the ball. Daring Kidd to drive inside. Amd yet Kidd was unstoppable in his drive into the paint.

Grew up a Mavericks fan from birth, never a front runner. When the Mavericks drafted this man after drafting Jim Jackson and Jamal Mashburn the previous 2 years I believed with my whole heart my little Mavericks were on their way to being competitive and brining some winning tradition to DFW. This was all before Cuban bought the team and after a very short run they were all gone. Fast forward to Jason being a key contributor to the 2011 Championship team and now the head coach going into the 2024 finals I can honestly say that my best memories as a Mavericks fan involve Jason Kidd.

Bron wasn’t really all that comfortable playing with his back to the basket in 2011 and the Mavs kept smaller guys on him to make him turn away from the rim. Smart and effective game plan. JKidd didn’t want to say that about his boy, but he still says Bron is the 🐐tho.
