Why can’t we just appreciate this moment and be happy as a culture??? I get it, we’re all competitive. At some point we should put that aside. These kids are doing GREAT things for our people.

White supremacist individuals and entities are actively and boldly dismantling HBCUs and seeking to destroy the present and future of these Black youth at this very moment. This is the time for us to come together and uplift what is positive and good and fight FOR and not against each other's best interests. Understand that Black joy and unity is a powerful weapon against our enemies and necessary for Black people to flourish!

I will say it is not the kids. The discipline is there and the hunger to redeem, but that staff gots to go. They are holding the kids back. First performance is a recycle show and you are the closer. Hell Miles could’ve took us right on home as a closer and I wouldn’t have been mad.

Every band except JSU did average tonight and that is not good if we want to continue this for years to come we need to be honest. We have to push each other and be honest with each for the culture to be the culture.

The Dolls sideline performance to “Can You Stand The Rain” was so good! 😊 Especially since I’m sure 99.9% of the current Dolls had seen that footage on KZbin or social media in their journey to joining the team! Kayla’s impact from that one video is still reverberating a decade later! 💙💛

There are some people that are straight up jealous of the this band. Every damn year, same hateful comments for this great band. Every other band can be themselves, play their music to sound like themselves, march and drill the way they always do. But when the Jukebox does exactly what makes them the Jukebox, haters with this "same bullshit". Well MF'ERS they are the effin Jukebox. They are gonna sound like the Jukebox. They are gonna march and drill the way the Jukebox does. But they never stop to think why so many other bands sound and drill the way the Jukebox does. Not the other way around.

Don't worry about those Ninjas HATING, because when it boils down WHAT BAND GETS CHOSEN TO BE IN VIDEOS AND TO PERFORM WITH BY FAMOUS SINGERS----THE JUKEBOX. They put in their quarters because a jukebox can play anything!!!!!!

The band sounded much cleaner than last year, and their dance number was more in control. The Dolls are the Dolls and will continue to tear the field up. Herb was a great choice for captain.

Ok, #HumanJukeBox, this was a good 1st showing. The band sounds incredible, and the precision marching was clean, orderly, and well on point. The Drum Major gave a good 1st showing, as did the Dolls. I’m looking forward to the upcoming season. The only thing I disagree with is the moved the SU vs JSU game to be played in September. That’s too early and so wrong, especially for those of us who look forward to the yearly anticipation that comes from the BoomBox Classic matchup. Oh well, I guess there’s a valid reason for it. #Southern #HumanJukeBox #OftenImitatedNeverDuplicated

The tribute was confusing and seemed more appropriate for a home setting. Still, the Jukes absolutely nailed "Precious Lord"--wow! I need the DM to MARCH down the 50 instead of walking, lol. The drill was good, but nothing special. I would have preferred to see something like the star drill, especially at a COLLEGE battle of the bands. The Dolls were fantastic! Shoutout to Traci and DT. The ballad was amazing, but I'm tired of hearing it! PLEASE BRING BACK "TWO HEARTS!" The band dance was really good, just wish it was longer. No major issues with the Jukes. The drill was lame and not really hitting on anything, but overall, the show was what we expected from SU--it was solid. Great show, JUKES! ❤🇺🇸

The tribute was confusing to you but not us (SU Fans) who are aware that one (1) band member died tragically about 3 weeks ago and last years 3 band members were killed while changing a flat tire on the highway in Texas hit by an 18 wheeler truck. To these directors who worked with these students, it is heartbreaking and they did a tribute which was appropriate not just at home but anywhere because two many young black men are losing their lives( it could have been young women). A tribute is appropriate anywhere because the young people were a significant part of this organization and these Directors are compassionate! I hope this clears up your confusion. @@fierce5304 A tribute is NOT appropriate ANYWHERE, and there were more than SU fans in the building, which means some of us may not have understood its significance. Beyond that, your explanation makes sense. If the students were killed in Texas, then I can 100% see the reasoning behind holding the tribute in Texas, as there is a meaningful connection to the state with the students, the band, and the tragedy. Yes, it clears up the confusion, and I hope your week is great as well. 🙂❤🇺🇸

This band is a powerhouse and extremely musically inclined. I never thought that the dance routines were their strong point, it was refreshing to see them throw in a little dancing, but get right back to the music. I really enjoyed this show and how they ended with the music as well. Great job band

They do not have many out there to watch! Everything Greggs did has been adapted by other bands. They used to laugh at our Circle Formations, now every band is making circles, now they are making triangular formations, JSU had their five drum majors dancing with their girls, so everything we do, it's being imitated. Look at the videos of the other schools. I want them to up the ante and play upbeat music in the stands like they used to and JAM so the SU team will be hyped to win GAMES!

Ok yeah Greg's had them drills in the 90s . Use to love when they put the score on the field which was tight. Never met him but use to gow he wanted excellence and was military like. Also heard him not being receptive of girls in the band during his erra U have sove vids on the tube from 90s swac schools. Mvsu use to do circle drill also in fall 98. Bet kids of today never heard of swac page either fall 98 stuff 90s were way better swac wise. Use to hear old jokers from 80s say yeah fam to scared to come to baton lounge git a kick out of those guys jaw janking

Dr. Taylor did the score for the first game in 2022 when we played LSU and we were losing so much, it was embarrassing to put the scores up for a lot of the games in the last couple of years. Maybe, this year, they might go back to doing the score!

Give Dr. Taylor a chance. Look, our people love HOOPLA, FLAMBOYANCY. He is strictly business and has his own flair in the sense that he focuses on musicality. Give them a chance. That halftime show was good and IT WAS GREAT TO HEAR them play Can you Stand The Rain (title might be wrong) and hear good music instead of RAP RAP RAP.

Good job Dolls!!! Jukebox was ok...definitely not the winner in this botb. The fieldshows and arrangements are .........boring....no "wow" factor. The Jukebox needs some seasoning, some flavor....everything is just bland. The execution is there . But the show is almost dull. Its not alive....it doesnt draw you in wanting more. Staff needs to revamp. Go on a retreat or something. Get the fire back, cuz its BEEN missing

If my Eagles aren’t playing like I know they should, then I would say something. The Boom kicked our a$$ last year, so the Juke gotta come with it and get that title back.
