I’m sorry but this is no hate to the actual students in the band program. We know that you all do the best with what you have. I think people just treat Valley like the stepchildren of the SWAC because 1st you all came last, 1950, 2nd your football team only won 1 game (to the other stepchildren, UAPB) out of 11 games & is the only team in the SWAC that has never been to the SCG, 3rd your band is, for a lack of better terms, GARBAGE. People are really just tired of seeing Valley at the bottom. I’m sure I speak for everyone in Lorman & everyone in the SWAC when I say, I just want to see y’all thrive.

Terrance McGee Lol what is Valley’s history exactly? The only good thing about Valley was Jerry Rice. Alcorn is 21 years shy of being 100 yrs older than Valley. No one can say that the only good thing about Alcorn was Steve McNair. Alcorn is the oldest public historically black land grant institution in the United States. Alcorn also ranks amongst the 25 best HBCUs in the country. Our football team has been a threat for the last 6 years, 5 of those years we were East Conference Champions (2014-2018) , 3 of those years we were SWAC Champions (2014, 2015, 2018) , & 1 of those years we were Black Football Champions (2014). Alcorn was also the first HBCU in the SWAC to have a dance troupe, the GGs, 1968. These programs were brought back from the dead after many years at the bottom. Our band & football were at the bottom with you all. However, we are now top contenders in many sports, as well as music & dance. Oh, we also have one of the best nursing programs in the state. Lol ok I’m done. I graduated from Alcorn in 2016 & I’m very passionate about my school & I’m sure you are as well so we can just agree to disagree.

So actually being in tune sounds bad cause stillman is definitely out of tune lacks intonation as well as some horrific articulations to get out their “high notes” where yes valley was no perfect tbh they lacked the aggression that stillman had but they still played better than stillman. I don’t see how valley is so trash.

@@Treyjmedia No, you are right, I'm just not impressed by them. They were actually better than Stillman in this video but I've been watching other vids with Valley and they are average on a good day. The W does go to Valley but they still have room to grow. Had to re-watch and listen to this vid after the battle with CCC, Stillman, and Valley. Valley actually has aggression as well but these arrangements are pretty basic so I expect it to be clear and sound.
