I think it was a joke. They couldn't seriously think we would just believe that to be true after all those times that Jared has said in a 100% serious tone/mood that Stevie was ignoring him. It could be a misunderstanding, but the chances of that being true are incredibly slim if you consider the enormous amount of comments (even Steve admitted that) that were pointing that out. If it was simply a mistake of communication you'd think that Steve would have at least done some research about what everyone was talking about. Most probable case is that they simply managed to short things out and made a joke about it.

Jared's showing off a way deeper set of skills and more variety of techniques in his rounds; basically, his playing is way more mature-sounding. Stevie's great at being fast, but his stuff is all structured super similarly. Jared wins the musicality battle, even if Stevie may win speed.

Stevie T is like an Albert Einstein for guitar. Every one thinks he's crazy stupid and really annoying, but is actually very intelligent and knows what the heck he's doing. His voice can be a little taxing to some however, it's ultimately just at the preference

Jared didn't win the last round... He used the wah to cover up the sloppiness... As you can hear, the sweep picking was sloppy as shit, the thingy after the sweep picking... You can't even write it out on paper, and the last part was just tapping (easiest technique to play fast)... Don't get me wrong, I love Jared, but we have to be realistic from time to time. Last round goes to Stevie as well... Besides, Stevie used approx 20% of what he can actually do, and still won every round...
