Baxter actually left the shredder after he was supposedly killed by the turtles and got a sleek robotic body but then Shredder came back, found him and put his head in a spider robot then after that made him a brain in a tube

You guys make it sound like Stockman had a choice. And even if he did, he was too deep into it now. And Stockman is a villain, too. So don’t feel too badly for him. He’s done messed up stuff, too.

Not to mention the only way to exit the foot clan is in a body bag. Only reason Stockman was kept “alive” is he still has some use for Shredder

Yeah, it’s more than just that. Baxter has an ego and he’s kind of a slimy dude. He works for Shredder, yeah, but also works against Shredder. He was doing some shady stuff on the side. Most of the time when he failed, it was because he was trying to do something for his personal gain, usually through sabotage. Heck, that robot body he had when he was nothing but a brain was made for him by a genius kid who Shredder was going to have take over as Stockman’s replacement, and Stockman tried to have that kid killed! And after Shredder’s defeat, Stockman then started working with Bishop to make an artificial body, but he ended up losing his mind even more and tried to kill April for revenge for his downfall.
