I'm a Russian myself and I know of no 7 liter gasoline ZIL engine... The only popular model of such sort is the "ЗИЛ-508.10" which is a 6 liter OHV V8 designed to run on 76 octane gasoline, the truck with that engine (ZIL-4331) received a factory rating of 36L/100km (6.5 us mpg), in reality that could raise to 40-50L/100km (5 mpg and less) Also, you might probably think that this is some 1960's stuff, but sadly no. You can buy a 2007 truck with this engine auto.ru/truck/used/sale/zil/4506/15770230-166fbb9b/

iirc these engines are designed to be versatile and run on several kinds of fuel including ethanol, stale petrol, kerosene etc, by design the economy has to be awful for there to be headroom to use these alternative fuels out in the field. you're looking at about a litre per minute.
