Dual transmissions are pretty common when people do it themselves, they're set up end to end and make a 1 to 1 ratio, and go 1 2 3 4 and 4 3 2 1 to get a higher end speed, that's the power of gear ratios

Back in the 80's we built a Lada with a 7.2ltr v8 chevy engine, had a holley 800 double pumper on it and a auto box, it was wicked, beat a turbo technics cozzy in a 1/4 mile drag race at york drag strip, ran an 11.4 1/4 mile, do have pics and a video, i'll see if i can upload them to my profile over the next few days.

I'm a Russian myself and I know of no 7 liter gasoline ZIL engine... The only popular model of such sort is the "ЗИЛ-508.10" which is a 6 liter OHV V8 designed to run on 76 octane gasoline, the truck with that engine (ZIL-4331) received a factory rating of 36L/100km (6.5 us mpg), in reality that could raise to 40-50L/100km (5 mpg and less) Also, you might probably think that this is some 1960's stuff, but sadly no.
