When I played this when I was younger, my mom refused to buy memory cards and so my sister and I would have to sit there for HOURS playing and leave the play station on to keep our progress, but the moment that it was turned off, our progress gone. I didn’t finish the game until recently when I bought everything again and it felt like I closed a chapter of my life. It was an intense experience.

@@generalofg3377 by modern standards its a bit repetitive and the tasks you have to do generally have nothing to do with the movie or characters, but as a gameplay experience its actually not that bad. i had it on the ps2 which might make a difference but it didnt have any really bad glitches, and for a licensed game of that era id venture to call it a bit above par. its no masterpiece of gaming and if you didn't grow up with it its not something you really *need* to play, but theres some charm to be found in it imo.

When playing Shrek 2 on PS2 emulator: every character in the game appears to be covered in bullet holes, the pause menu story book has torn pages (which means Shrek has been wiping his ass), and there are missing background texture/models or both (making it difficult to progress in the game).

i kind of agree from my perspective having played it when i was 8. you have two objects (the tnt and the box) both of which shrek can pick up, and a seesaw. obviously you'd try to weigh it down with something he could lift. granted, the fact you can't do it using the weight of another character might be a bit confusing, but i dont think i ever tried that, and the nearby mirror probably tells you about it, but they seemed not to noticed most of the mirrors.

this game is overwhelmingly difficult for no god damn reason. fights go on too long, so you're just beating up dudes for a long, long time. there's a rhythm game segment that's literally 15 full minutes long, and if you miss EIGHT NOTES then it resets and you have to do the whole thing over again. the amount of recycled content is insane. you end up doing the exact same stuff over and over again.
