Another fun fact: None of the principal actors actually met during production as they had recorded their lines in different studios. John Lithgow later said that while he enjoyed playing Lord Farquad, he was a little disappointed that he did not work directly with Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy or Cameron Diaz.

I know Skyler. I was 3 years old when I saw Shrek in theaters in 2001. It's probably the first film that I ever paid full attention to in a theater. I instantly fell in love with the film and after 19 years, it's still just a good as the first time I saw it.

But it's not done by Farquaad, he really does love himself. Think about it he needed a magic mirror to tell him that he was not a King. So he didn't just love himself he was pretty full of himself. He didn't really care about his height.
