@@whitneyfeldmeier745 I agree with this but would like to clarify to nonreaders that the show still did differ noticeably from the book, such as with the Aunty Em’s and Waterland scenes (being vague to avoid spoilers). To me, it felt like the show and book were two different versions of the same story. But yes, still closer to the book plot than the movie. And the author being part of production this time means he either made those changes or was fine with them.

Tink may have made some mistakes in the first few movies but she was literally born yesterday that's why I thought her friends were too hard on her when the preparations for spring were ruined I mean silvermist and Rosetta were the only ones who called her out on her actions while fawn and dessa stayed quiet. Up until that point they were all supportive of her desire to go to the mainland though they couldn't have known vidia put her up to it. Queen Clarion also while disappointed probably thought Tinkerbell as a new arrival didn't consider the consequences of her actions and didn't mean any harm which is why she didn't punish Tinkerbell for ruining spring and after hearing vidia confess decided to forgive her.

I think the problem wasn't that Tink invented new stuff, she was just the first fairy to use lost things in their inventions. The main tinker fairy deemed them useless because well as themselves, they ARE useless. All the inventions she made to fix Spring include random lost shit like a glove, a perfume bottle or even screws.

It seems like tinkers had sort of been tamped down into just builders, as well. If every tinker got the same kind of pushback from the other 90% of fairies when they tried to innovate no wonder it took so long for their technology to progress. We do see increased levels of creativity in the rest of the tinkers going forward, even though Tink has a special affinity for Lost Things.

@marlarinehart727 that's an ongoing theme in these movies, where they confuse curiosity itself with lack of care while pursuing answers. Oops! Something went bad while answering a question, ASKING questions must be bad. And then the plot is about refusing to be made small, and going off the beaten path to prove the answers were worth finding. I wonder if that's a deliberate choice in a series of movies targeted at young girls.

The frustrating thing about the first movie is that a ton of the mistakes Tink made where preventable if the other fairies had just.. OH IDK, TOLD HER HOW THINGS WORK? Like, she embarrassed herself in front of the queen when someone could've just told her "hey, tinkers don't go to the mainland." and then the hawk incident?? That crap should just be fairy 101. And Vidia made her chase the thistles, so the whole incident with the spring decorations was all Vidia's fault, technically.

I know what you mean in the first movie I know she made a lot of mistakes but I would let it slide because she was literally born yesterday and I felt her friends particularly Rosetta and silvermist were harsh when they confronted her after the thistles destroyed spring since up until then they were supportive and it was the first time she heard their voices in such a tone. Like I'm pretty sure she could see for herself she messed up and didn't need to hear from them. Even if that can be forgiven in Tinkerbell and the Great fairy rescue they comfort vidia and bluntly tell her it wasn't her fault tink got captured because she gets into trouble all by herself which I interpreted as blaming Tinkerbell entirely for her own mistakes including the springting thistles fiasco in the first movie even though they were their when vidia confessed and was punished by the queen. I'm also surprised they forgave vidia so easily when the first film implied they weren't on good terms but when an even more hot -headed fairy like tink came along they consider vidia a lesser of two evils. Maybe I'm just vilifying Tinkerbell's friends but most of the time they can be unsupportive like how they were intentionally against her crossing the border the first time in secret of the wings and probably would have stopped her when she crossed the second time but the minute they find out she had a sister they all got on board but I think friends should support each other no matter what.

i think the other main 4 fairies thought she wanted to switch talents BECAUSE tinkering wouldn't get her to the mainland. so they must've assumed she already knew. vidia was the only one tink confessed to about wanting to go the mainland and obviously she took advantage of tink's ignorance hence why she was punished. i mean it definitely is on all the other fairies to just assume this 4 days old fairy would know the customes of pixie hallow but since the conversation was never brought up no one warned her.

You could say tink was the one who started the whole switching talents thing and she should have known better than to try controlling weeds that trample everything in their path but had vidia not tried to get her in trouble again by reminding the other fairies she was responsible for the mess in the first place she would have gotten off scot-free not to mention Tinkerbell had a point that she may have ruined spring but at least she was trying to help and the fairies didn't have any other options otherwise spring would be canceled and after hearing her confess the queen tasked her with chasing down the thistles that were released during the chaos in other words just like tink vidia had to clean up her own mess.

What I love about these movies is that they give Tink actual flaws. In Peter Pan, she’s still a hothead, and that continues to be something she has to work on. A lot of female based movies don’t show a lot of flaws particularly anger problems for women, but watching tink learn and work with it is actually quite nice

The funniest thing is, the fact that each faction was given a turn to create a sceptre for the moon stone festival or whatever but now that tink has shattered the stone it will be very unlikely for any other fairy to be able to create a unique and personal design. Tink just destroyed a very old and culturally significant tradition and realistically a large portion of the fairies would riot over this.

But ever since I was a kid, I so badly wanted Terence in future movies for the ship to progress until it would have been canon. 😭💔 (Yes I was a bit upset as a kid when I realized no matter how long I would wait no more Tinker movies would build up my ship lol). But looking back now, at least The Lost Treasure was a safe completion of their friendship. Sometimes it’s better to leave dynamics as they are for directors to not make it worse in the future by trying to further make them more than friends. Little girls or childhood aged girls were their main target after all.

Each tinker bell movie is amazing IMO, what sucks is we never get the true last film, there’s lost media online talking about how eventually Tinkerbell is the last fairy and the others disappear/die. It’s interesting and was suppose to lead into Peter Pans purpose as well as the lost boys !!!! Overall I treasure the movies so much ❤❤ love your commentary !

I’m so glad these movies made Tink a protagonist with real flaws that start conflicts the story can resolve, so many kids movies have protagonists with paper thin flaws for paper thin morals in the end, but since they were using an already flawed character from an old movie, the Tinkerbell movies had some really gripping emotional conflicts.

Tinkerbell and the Great Rescue was always my favourite growing up. I used to believe in fairies because of that movie and the 2003 live action Peter Pan. These childhood movies are what got me into Celtic spirituality and are allowing me to get in touch with my Celtic roots so these movies mean a lot to me!
