These bags are great for hauling almost anything. I took it as my personal item on a recent flight and brought back a juicer which was very heavy, and the straps held no problem.

I have a green version that I purchased a year ago. I used it everyday as my work catch all for 2-3 months and now whenever I need a tote. I just got back from a road trip where I used it. I’ve tossed the bag around and haven’t babied it at all. Just looked at my corners and they’re fine. One is just starting to show wear on the exterior but wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t inspected it while watching this video. I had it so stuffed on my road trip that I thought I might bust the zipper, but nope. She took the overstuffing and being tossed around like a champ. lol. If anything happens to the corners I’ll still feel I got my money’s worth. Lots of use and I didn’t pay full price.

@DogMomStephanie7 ай бұрын
@@HelenAvery I got it from TJ Maxx. Not sure if you have those in Canada (I’m in the US). They have a few choices online from time to time and I happened to look at the right time to get a black one. Nordstrom Rack sometimes has them discounted too.

I own ~10 le Pliages with most purchased in recent years & fortunately haven't had this problem. However, I've noticed a different problem with my smaller pieces. I purchased the pouch with handle and the XS energy with detachable strap and there were quality issues witth the 'ears'. The XS energy ears were not centered and weirdly angled and the pouch ears had a weird wrinkle to them. These were both purchased at Bloomingdale's and both were made in China. I actually wrote Longchamp with images and they sent me a repair form offering to repair. I returned the pouch to Bloominigdales showing them the issue and they took the item back and placed back on the floor lol. The XS Energy I kept & considering repairing. Would just recommend inspecting the items before purchasing.
@HelenAvery9 ай бұрын
First, thank you for the incredible level of detail in this comment, I know comments like this really help owners and prospective owners of these bags. The XS Energy is such a cute and practical style, but it's good to know its potential pitfalls. Second, you bring up a good point that went unaddressed in my video: You can (and perhaps should) return these to where you bought them, of course. However, I know that's obvious so I made this for the audience of those who buy them at the airport or on vacation, or get them as gifts...it's nice to know they are covered under a warranty. I appreciate you sharing your experience!

Hi..I like this content. In my opinion the issue might be due to the recycled canvas material that they are currently using where the canvas feels slightly softer and less durable. If I were to choose I prefer the older canvas version over this new one. Previously I thought the one time free repair warranty is applicable worldwide. Unfortunately, in my country (Malaysia) there’s no such free repair and the only warranty the offered is 30days return policy 🥲
@HelenAvery9 ай бұрын

@@HelenAvery I am a Longchamp lover. I owned all sizes of LP including the pouch with handle. I also have the LP energy and one from the coated canvas line. As for the corners, I noticed most of them are showing sign of wear after one year. I have that exact green version in black like your mom’s. I bought it last year, and have used it several times during travel and to the office. Still looks as new as the day I bought it. @annelisabethcom9 ай бұрын
I actually found your video when searching for Longchamp price increase. The expandable travel tote cost 1600 Nok maybe 2,5 years ago. It now costs 2900 Nok at the same store. That's a HEFTY price increase! I checked archived versions of the site. The large shoulder version of Le Pliage shopper cost 1000 Nok then and 1600 Nok now.
@HelenAvery9 ай бұрын
Thank you for doing this research! That is indeed a huge price jump, especially compared to the more modest rise of the large Le Pliage shoulder tote. Do you own these types or are you considering a purchase?

I wonder if that corner issue could be avoided by placing an organizer inside? Also by making sure the bag never gets too heavy and full of stuff daily. Thank you for your tips.
@HelenAvery12 күн бұрын
Yes keeping it light for SURE would help (good luck to me, lol) but I wonder if the organizer would make it worse because it forces the corners to firmly protrude even more? Not sure?

Hi Helen, Loved this video. I am based in Tokyo and called the Longchamp store about the corner repair. And in Tokyo, they said that they charge approx. USD70 for repairs.😞 So, Canada offers a better service. I used to own several Longchamp bags, but kind of got tired of using them, and sold them. But I recently I purchased a new one from the store, the same style/color as your mom owns in size L. I've been using it 2 to 3 times a week since this May for work and so far, the corners are OK. All the Longchamp bags that I owned showed some wear and tear using it on a daily basis but it took at least a year for the corner holes to get big enough for a rice to go through, I hope this make sense? 😸 How many Longchamp bags do you own now? Would love to see your collection. I would like to buy a size S or M but it drives me crazy when my stuff gets heavier throughout the day and I cannot carry my bag on my shoulder. 😫
@HelenAvery3 ай бұрын
Hi!! They charge?? Ugh that's so annoying, and not fair that there are different standards for different places. Glad to hear your recent one is holding on well. Also yes, I am Asian so I know exactly the size of a rice grain hahaha! I own three right now but am considering, like you, another but not sure what size to get. I overstuff mine just as you say, so perhaps I need to think smaller? Thanks for the fun and informative comment, I appreciate you!

@agelessinspiration2 ай бұрын
I’ve been told that they will repair the corners on these canvas bags one time. I bought mine from Costco in Canada quite a few years ago and it’s only now starting to get holes in the corners. Apparently, if the holes get too big, they can’t fix it so you need to have it done before they get bigger than a pencil. I’ve since moved to Europe and in my country, they will repair as long as there’s a Longchamp store. They take photos and then ask whether they can send back to Paris for repair.

I wonder if it’s a change in materials they are using lately or if the bags being made in different countries have anything to do with that. I’ve noticed that they are coming from Tunisia, Romania, and china. I’m not even sure if it’s made in France still anymore. I do notice the difference between the leather feel and nylon between all of them made from different places.

Tumi bags are excellent quality but much more expensive than Longchamp. Might be worth investing in one compared to countless Longchamp’s. I’ve just purchase black Longchamp hopefully the corners will not tear soon. I’ve had one Longchamp for 15 years , it was indestructible, sadly I’ve given it away. I feel none of the new versions holds a candle to the old original pieces. Not only Longchamp. Also I’ve read somewhere if it says Made in France it’s a fake? Hmm
