I love it! I love your hair! Thank you for making a video about this topic! Not to mention, those who automatically think Black people can't grow long hair. I keep my hair pinned up, braided, or plaited (pigtails) like my mother did when I was a little girl. So, when I let it hang down, it reaches my derriere. Boy, do I get the question, "Is that your real hair???" Mostly Black women ask whether my hair is real. So, I let them touch it, but Black men and white people only say "I love your hair" or "OMG! Your hair is soooo beautiful!" However, they all want to know how I grew my hair so long. Of course, I tell them the truth that I have always had long hair since I was a child, except for during my younger adult years when I used to cut it really short. Nevertheless, my mother always told me she made sure I ate healthy to prevent illnesses and for healthy hair growth. Thusly, I continued eating healthy the way I was raised, and I raised my daughter the same way. I also make my own hair and skin products. For those who think Black people cannot grow long hair, let me educate you. Africans were the first to have the longest hair in the world. Some tribal women shave their hair, especially the Amazons and some tribes grow their hair so long it touches the ground. Apropos, it was a Black woman who was the first to make the Guinness Book of World Records for having the longest hair in the world.

@collisiondagod What the Sam hell are you going on about? You obviously did not read my comment in its entirety. Where did you read anywhere in my comment that I did what a white person told me to do? I listen to my mother and my grandmother because they were the people who taught me how to care for myself, and that includes my hair. I also stated that I make my own hair care products. Moreover, my comment had nothing to do with afros or hair standing up! For one reason, I cannot wear an afro nor does my hair "stand up!" The only other thing I did not mention was that I also pray for everything, including my overall health which includes my hair. GOD answers my prayers, and as far as my hair, it now grows faster than ever, and I give GOD the credit for that.

@@bee6684 what do u do to grow ur hair omg
@bee66843 жыл бұрын
@@layciet The most important thing to do is keep it simple. We all grow hair at pretty much the same rate. The problem is maintaining or retaining the length ( breakage). I wash and condition my hair weekly with a shampoo that has no parabens sulfates and things of that nature. I use any conditioner I have on hand. I've been using Aussie three in one miracle lately. I then put my hair in about 10 to 15 two strand twist after using the LOC method. Liquid, oil, cream. The liquid I use is water, the oil I use is a mixture I make of tea tree oil, jojoba oil, olive oil ,black castor oil and peppermint oil. ( This is also amazing for the skin)!!! The cream I use is a mixture I make of Shea and coconut whipped together until it's creamy. I'll leave these twists in for 1 week taking them out now and then to wear my hair out. When I said keep it simple, meaning low manipulation: keeping your hands out your hair, no tight hairstyles that pull, this could cause traction alopecia and wearing any hairstyle for too long. I hope that helps

I make sure I have time for my hair rituals, I make sure that my area is clean, I'll add a candle, I have soft music in the background. Usually our lives are never 100% about us. PLEASE READ‼️‼️‼️ My mom has 2b hair so she didn't do much to it growing up. Her dad passed when she was 11 and the black side of the family stopped coming around. Her mother being white with pin straight hair didn't know how to take care of black hair. This resulted in lots of perms and now her hair is past the point of return in thickness, also doesn't grow past her shoulders. My sister (14) has 4c hair and I've been trying for years to get her interested in taking care of it since my mom never did anything past oil or moisturizer and puffs as a kid. She HATES detangling which is the biggest reason she won't do anything to her hair. We've tried undercuts (at my sister's suggestion) so there was less to manage, my moms friend used to do it for free in braids till she moved, and so they tried locks to be more low maintenance (My sister hated them tho and it took me a week to get them out fully.) Now she just keeps it short but still with no product so it's always so dry. She's finally giving small interest in doing something to it. I'm so determined to make a hair routine with good products for her hair so any info I can get will help.

I've been natural for like 8 years and just last year I started braiding and twisting. When I tell you my hair grows Hella fast without any special products. Should have been doing protective styles long time ago.

@@oradsincesar90 I’m excited for you 🙌🏼 So you use products, but just not special ones? I remember a woman telling me she twists her daughters hair without products and it was super long. Don’t know if my daughters hair would like that. I’m so used to slapping products on. Really I just need some method to detangle Hera thoroughly and without a lot of discomfort.

I get that from people too. Looks like I am just barely growing out a TWA, but my hair is mid back length when stretched 🙃

Thank you. I was just telling someone in a previous comment about this. She said most BW hair don't look long and it depends on the curl pattern. I told her no, it depends on the Shrinkage. The same curl patterns don't have the same amount of Shrinkage. You can't just look at a twa and assume that it looks the same in a stretched state.
