Might be thee best guide online right now. Only thing I would add or change is that learning soft, delay, drifting and hopping should go together. Just so much muscle memory practice is needed with the three might as well learn them together. For my tip on snaking: it’s counter chaining delayed soft drifts and releasing the MT as soon as possible. You want to be snappy with the delayed drift (precisely as you land and snap the direction). And the soft drift angle should be as perfect to the 44.5 degree angle as possible. And last tip with snaking is sometimes you need to tilt wide just before you release MT to the next cycle to keep your snake as tight as possible. Edit: for fast snaking Snap(release and press drift immediately)from MT release to the next neutral hop/delayed drift.
@Shortcat3215 ай бұрын
Learning them all at once is absolutely doable if you will do dedicate practice in time trials. Most people just play races, so in that case I recommend focusing on 1 or 2 at a time. Great tips on snaking! Thank you so much 😊

Driving faster than all your opponents is an immense advantage, but sometimes it screws you over lol

Great video! I think this is the first time I've seen an 'advanced guide' for something and been able to keep up... Most of this stuff I already know playing the game this way even though I only have 350 hrs or so (not much compared to you I'd think). I'm getting pretty good at soft-drifting (though I still go under the threshold sometimes), and I've perfected counterhopping and hop realignment, though I'm still bad at doing the neutral hop drifts. I'm definitely going to use this guide to get better at some of the things I haven't perfected or just didn't know/think about (*cough* trick direction). If there's one thing I noticed that you didn't mention, it was the importance of neutral hopping when you're performing hops into some shortcuts, since neutral hopping makes you go further then directional hopping.
@Shortcat3215 ай бұрын
Neutral hopping giving more distance is a myth. Turns out it has always been about mini turbo hopping on an upward slope. There are still several spots you should neutral hop because it gives the best alignment after the shortcut. But mushroom gorge gap jump uses a left hop for example. The world record for mute city uses a slight right hop. Dragon driftway is a right hop
@Lottililex5 ай бұрын

My sister has been the queen of mariokart in our family for years. So since I haven't seen her in years and I'm heading on a trip out of state to visit her I've been binging your videos. Your about to tear a family hierarchy apart in the name of mini turbo. I fucking love your work shortcat :)

Started three days ago and I’m already seeing my skills improve. I’m by no means a pro, but I’m well on my way!

WOW! This guide is amazing!! And the website is awesome!! Thank you SO much for the time and effort you put into this. This gave me a lot to work on. It was really helpful how you always showed a clip that perfectly demonstrated what you were talking about. Now I’m gonna be all set to totally wreck my brother lol 👍 1:25:13 “turning my head sideways during antigravity sections” I forgot about how I used to do this 😂
