Do you know that Mayor Cilliers Brink was collaborating with the National Department of Water and Sanitation regarding the water quality crisis in Hammanskraal? Fir the first time in nearly twenty years, there is now, thanks to this Mayor, a credible and workable plan to have clean drinking water flowing out of the taps of Hammanskraal by as early as October this year! ( Phase 1 is almost complete) This was unimaginable only a year ago!!

Tshwane can't be like WC where townships are ignored Am not against DA but The common sense is why did Mmusi and Herman left DA. Why PA also doesn't like DA. 3 parties against 1 party. Listen, PA, BOSA and ActionSA aren't gullible parties... Hence DA might be good in other areas. It deserves credits where they are due. Black townships voted and deserve services like urban areas. The DA’s approach has been to stabilise the tax and revenue base. Businesses pay the lions share of rates, provide jobs (ie more rate payers). The opposite of this is to reduce the tax base and have people and businesses leave the province, that’s happening now. The DA mayor in Tshwane has been in power for 18months (ironically with ASA) the problems in the townships did start with the DA. Ironically we had Lusufi running around telling everyone about ANC’s amazing experience in government and why they should take over.

I'm 24 years old, and even though I may not have the greatest understanding of the political inner workings of what it takes to run a municipal city (nor do I have a strong love for the Big 3 political parties; i strongly dislike all of them for what they have done to my city for their political stubbornness, ideological egos and corruption), I can confidently say that the DA has ruined the City Of Tshwane and done absolutely nothing since they came into power in 2016. Since they came in, the city has become a dumpster from all the trash and little or no maintenance of city parks, trees, and grass. Service delivery is poor, they owe Eskom billions of rands from mismanagement of money, and the audit status of the city is always bad. Say whay you will about the ANC when they were in power ( and i want to re-emphasize that I don't like them either), but at least they kept the city clean, service delivery was somewhat ok and the city bus drivers didnt go on strike all the time. I understand that some, if not, many of the city staff workers are ANC and EFF party members and sabotage the DA to make it look like they are not delivering, but it also doesn't help if the DA comes in with an ego and attitude that they want to undo everything the ANC has done that was working well, constantly chase after the trails of corruption the ANC has done while not delivering services, especially in the townships, and expect the city staff workers to keep working while those in power talk trash about your memebers. A city can't be run alone, and at the very least, city residents aren't all one party voters. You can't just serve the constituents who voted for you in a particular ward. I, and I think many Tshwane residents are at a point where we don't give a damn which party is in power. Just do your damn job by delivering services and run the city smoothly! This is the capital city for crying out loud! I don't think political party lines should matter when it comes to running the capital city. I'd rather the city be run by an independent candidate in the next elections 😒. And, I also want to add that I find it funny that Mashaba always proudly proclaims himself to be a capitalist but wants more black people to be liberated economically and have self-determination and self-sustaining employment. Ma guy, apartheid, the very same system that kept black people disadvantaged, was also capitalist in that it excluded blacks and was built on the suffering of black people. Adopting that same system that many of us are still suffering from isn't going to help anyone, let alone black people. Late stage neoliberal capitalism is the reason the world is so messed up, from corporations buying and privatizing everything, exacerbating the climate change crises, and even letting genocides and apartheid continue in many countries (the Congo, Sudan and Palestine). The reason why people can't think of a world beyond capitalism is because its aggressively trying to maintain itself through racism, land theft, exploitation of black and brown people, over consumption of finite resources instead of finding alternatives and the affects of colonialism. If Mashaba can't recognize that he was a victim of that system but wants to help his fellow people by adopting that system, then he is not with us but against us. Then he's no different than the DA he says he's against so much 😑.
