Got my first tattoos this year, one on my bicep and one on my ribs and when I told the artist the positions he kind of looked at me like "oh god here we go again" but he was super professional and guided me through what I had to do to make it easier for him to tattoo without fucking up the lines. I swear the whole time I just held my breath because I didn't want my chest to move while he was doing the lines and as soon as he went to get more ink I would just GASP for breath.

One side of the face can be affected because the nerve splits to cover the whole surface area of the face. The other nerves deal with different expressions, that's why he somewhat looks normal until he has that delayed blink. It will heal eventually.
