Boil 'em until they were soft, turn off the heat, stir in a bunch of salt, and let them soak a while. Then you bag them suckers up and watch them fly off the counter!!! Woooooo!

Ya man tarpology! Loving it, can't wait until Part 2. Just a beginner hanger myself, and big questions after a few trips are: ridge line over vs under, vs none; associated drip issues especially with tarp ridge under, etc?. I always wondered with ridge line under, if the rubbing on delicate silnylon or cuben will abrade the coating and cause it to leak? Oh the questions! :o)
@shugemery10 жыл бұрын
I am an off the ends type. Under the tarp can cause drips depending on the angle, type of cord etc. I can happen. Never had a rubbing problem. Sil is pretty tough.

I like a full Blackbird Warbonnet Supertarp in such circumstances, feel a touch more secure :) I'm a ridge line underling myself, love the clothesline but must admit haven't run into how well it will perform in prolonged rain conditions. Did perfectly well in the thunderstorm in the wee hours last September anyway. From the looks of it I'll have my opportunity this summer. Would recommend extra tie downs and stakes for the mosquitoes this summer, they're epic!?

Thanks for the vid. Looking forward to the next one. I hammocked up in Minnesota last year for the first time and loved it. I used a heavy duty blue tarp, which worked but was complicated. Now I have the skeeter beater pro with the ENO Profly. My biggest question is what is the proper way to have the ridge line. Do you leave 6 inches on each end and is that enough to keep water out that is coming sideways? Every time I feel vulnerable to rain from the ends.
@shugemery10 жыл бұрын
I will be showing that but yeah...that is about right. I seems like you would get soaked every time but it takes a real blowing storm to get you if you don't have doors. Pitch low and tight.

Superb presentation Shug..... Great info plus a massive dose of humour, that's what makes a watchable video :D Thanks for being you, and giving us the dope in a way it's easily understood, but with plenty of credibility lurking behind the piss taking. Subscribed, and if you're ever in England, message me and we'll put you up and show you around :)

Cheers Shug, nicely done. If you don't want to make a tarp making vid, how about a peanut boiling one, or is it as simple as it sounds? Al

It is. Boil water with lots of salt...add raw peanuts. Boil for 5 hours or so. Have to keep adding some water as it boils off.

Thanks! I'll give that a go, see if I can get boiled peanuts to catch on here in Yorkshire.
