I've been watching you for 4 years and thank you for getting me into hammock camping. It's the best. I'm not far from Linville Gorge and can appreciate you and Hickory's adventures there. Can't tell you how much your videos helped me reconnect with my love of camping, which then helped me reconnect with friends I was starting to lose touch with. Currently stationed overseas in South America. Have quite a variety of outdoors to pitch a hammock from mountain, jungle and coast.... still learning the best ways to stay dry, warm, cool....and not eaten up by insects. :)

Finally have my order in with HG. Getting a top quilt. Whoo buddy. Super cool. Camo extra wide. Have had the the warbonnet up doing testing with rig held up great through wind rain dry as a bone can't get over how much more comfortable this system is compared to my own bed, which seems primitive at this point. Absolutely hands down best comfort zone to date. I relayed this information to the iss space station as well AstroSamantha. Lol thanks Shug. Happy sleeping

Enjoyed the video. I use to camp some in the winter, four season tent. Sleeping bag down to -25 which would be about -10/15. Need to unzip the feet area for ventilation. I enjoyed your video. Thought of the cat holes in Utah that I dug when out in the canyons. Like the way it is there. Thank you for the video, have a good day...

Taking us back to basics, nicely done sir! Generally most people bail on me so 90% of my trips are solo. When soloing I also tend to be more careful when traversing terrain. I read a quote the other day way people do this sort of thing, "To be able to breathe freedom".

Using the boot claws is great advice. My son broke both bones in his forearm two years ago when he slipped and took the full weight of his pack on it. We went to the same place again this year but with the claws this time. He kept them on the entire weekend and didn't slip once.

That Medagalia D’Oro instant espresso is a great brew! I enjoy a large mug every morning… a little heavy cream, and my easy chair. A great start to my day. Good editorial Shug. I'm dying of kidney failure but always find the outdoors refreshing and a step out of the daily routines of drugs and being hooked up to a machine that keeps me alive. I had planned on doing the Appalachian Trail before I got sick but that probably won't happen now. Regardless, being outside changes your worries and reminds you of how awesome Earth really is.

This past memorial day weekend I did my first overnight in a hammock. It was a blast! I've been watching your videos since March of this year, and I've learned a ton. Thanks for the information and the entertainment. I think I'm going to be a permanent hammock convert. Thanks Shug!

Thanks for the info shug, starting on hammocks this year for bikepacking and this was good info on sort of gauging and setting up your tent using simple things like "sitting comfortably" this is a great gauge. I am in MN also born in Owatonna live in Minneapolis now. Got a lot of family in Cloquet.

Love your videos. Many years ago when my son was in Cub Scouts (he's 29 now) I asked him if he liked camping and he replied "You bet dad!" "What do you like the best?" He quickly replied: "Sleeping and eating!" Yep, we never outgrow that. He earned his Eagle Scout and to this day we both stand by that statement. Oh yeah, my instant coffee of choice is now Medaglia D'Oro Coffee and for some reason I keep watching Sling Blade. Strange!
