Decades ago, I remember seeing my neighbor and her teenage son who was wearing an arm cast. I asked him what happened. Before he was able to answer, his mom responded " I happened!" I had a mother who would hurt you and didn't care how. In the 50's, and 60's 70's there were no child protective services around. You got your ass beat. I am a better person for it too.
