I used to work at a group home years ago. I went to work one day and the Program Director told me that the children were going camping for two days and they needed the nurse( me ) to go with them. In the Cayman Islands an iguana 🦎 the height of about 2 feet tall, with a body about 4 feet long and a tail about 4-6 feet long walked around the corner ON THE SIDEWALK. I would've been right there with you. I went to South Africa in 2019 and the tour guide said that a lady was bitten by a puffer snake on that specific trail the year before and had to be airlifted to the hospital. I stayed on the bus. The tour guide asked me why didn't I get off the bus, I said "All you had to say was *snake* and that was explanation enough." He just laughed and went on to guide the group. I was okay with the monkeys walking up to me but not no snakes.

I've been to several countries in Africa and the last trip I took, I warned my travel buddy about the monkeys. She didn't believe me because she has traveled more than I have, but not to the places I have traveled. During an early safari we were served a light breakfast and the tour guides sternly said DO NOT FEED THE MONKEYS!!! Of course some of the people didn't listen and the monkeys took over the dining area and snatched the food out of their hands and off their plates. My travel buddy jumped up and started running.
