I sincerely apologise for uploading the notes late. I was quite busy yesterday, so the work got delayed. Summary: -Shurahbil Ibn Hasana(or Sharahabil Ibn Hasana according to some scholars) was named after his mother because she was the one who adopted and raised him as a child. -He and his mother accepted Islam very early on. -Some scholars say that his father was Abdullah ibn Muta from the tribe of Kindah or Tamim. -Her mother would later on marry Sufyan Ibn Ma'mar whose origin was from Al Madinah but he settled down in Makkah. He, his mother, Sufyan and Sufyan's two sons Jabir and Junada (Shurahbil's stepbrothers) also became Muslim and made the second hijrah to Abyssinia. -When Umm Habibah was widowed in Abyssinia, Prophet ﷺ sent a proposal to her from Al Madinah and addressed An Najashi ra to conduct the marriage on his behalf and An Najashi did so. An Najashi sent Umm Habibah with Shurahbil on her way back to Makkah. -During the battle of Yamama and Apostasy Wars, Shurahbil fought as a deputy commander of Khalid ibn al-Walid. -He is one of those who have been honoured to write down the revelation. -He was literate. -Shurahbil was appointed as a commander of one of the four Muslim armies. -He was also a key participant in the fall of the city of Bosra. -When Umar ra became the caliph, he replaced Khalid ra with Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah as the commander, but Abu Ubaidah left Shurahbil as the deputy commander. -Shurahbil had an army of about 7000 people and was able to capture large parts of Jordan and Palestine. -Shurahbil died in the Plague of Amwas at the age of 67 years old on the same day as Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah.

I was a very good practicing muslim but i don't know what happened, my iman gradually started to fade away. And now i am in a state where when i go to pray i dont want to pray. I leave sunnah i leave nafl. I just dont know what happened and i dont know what to do. Once i left everything which was wrong, for Islam but now i have became just like a muslim who just pray jummah and fast in the month of Ramadan.

The fact that you recognize this means you’re on the right path. I have walked the same path as you. I know that returning feels so daunting but once you fully realize Allah’s infinite mercy, it feels a whole lot easier. Go through each day, each salah one at a time. Don’t overwhelm yourself by thinking of an entire days worth of prayer. Also, watch more of The Firsts episodes if you haven’t already. They keep helping me solidify my imaan more and more. Read more about stories of our prophets and sahabas. Inspire yourself. Praying for Allah to make this easy for you. Ameen.
