I just did to. I really do like these things but I'm still not really comfortable with them. Their last model broke on me and I'm not really happy with them as a result. While I love their sound quality and overall endurance can you please let me know if there's a set of earbuds that are the same price but better quality overall that don't have the moldable ear pieces as I always end up snapping the metal wires due to metal fatigue. I'm the kind of person that always fidgets for that "perfect fit" around the ear so as a result these earbuds always end up breaking for me. Any advice would be really great for me since Christmas is coming up and I would love a strong recommend from an expert on insanely indestructible buds.

great review, pretty much spot on. I defiantly found them to be more base heavy, great sound for a decent price. some things I think potential buyers should know is the plastic bit that either the silicone or foam slide on gets gross pretty quick and (at least with silicone pads) there is nothing in the way to help them from getting dirty fast, cleaning them out often is a must for good sound and keep them from dying faster. also the part that goes around the ear feels really uncomfortable for a few days but once they get a better shape of your ear and you get used to putting them in they fit great. TLDR; they are still great for entry level high end audio and worth the price
@KingHalbatorix5 жыл бұрын
I've been using them in the welding shop for 3 years now. About two years ago I dropped them to the floor as a coworker walked by and stepped on them both; one bud wasn't damaged at all - but with the other, the peg that the ear tips slide over snapped off. I superglued it back on, but the joint failed 3 times. Then I up and blobbed a ton of epoxy everywhere and that has held for more than a year. They're tough little fuckers that's for sure

More considerations to take into account. True IEMs for stage use vs critical/casual listening. Two different criteria that many seem to overlook. The Chi-Fi are not built as rugged - many people reporting just this fact everywhere. You’re on the road with your band or touring company, and let’s say your Shure Se215s IEMs do fail, Shures are available everywhere - you could get a replacement almost immediately for not much money and have the sound characteristics you have become accustomed to and possibly EQd for (remember these will be fed by a monitor mix likely). And many sound engineers will be familiar with them. If your Ch-Fis break good luck finding a replacement quick and then if you buy something different to fill your needs immediately then you are faced with a different sound characteristic than what you are used to and need to spend time adjusting for. Of course, for the price of the Chi-Fis you could take back ups with you. Just worthy of mentioning for circumstances the 215s are actually designed for.

It's a direct flat monitor sound. The sound produced is not coulored at all. It allows you to hears difference parts of a track, pick out different sections. This is the intended use. There are cheap monitor Earphones. Its a different listen experience! Once you get how they work and sound they is no returning to coloured sound scapes!
@thekaydubz3 ай бұрын
In my opinion I wouldn't call the SE215 "flat" necessarily as it has a darker, warm, slightly bass boosted sound. They were the go to introductory IEM back in the day and they still aren't bad nowadays but there's better options for sound quality alone. The SE215 were my first IEMs back in the day so I do have a love for them still. Currently using the Moondrop Dusk which is phenomenal!

I find that they have a weird Peak in the treble and in the mids that make them shouty and harsh around the edges. I just got one and tried it and surely the noise cancelation and stability in and on my ears is great. But it also surely lacks some quality in the sound department. Very bad clarity and no highend. Shure makes these more for monitoring purposes for musicians than just casual music listening for the general public, but I'd say this does a bad job for it in terms of sound quality and EQ.

Has anyone here upgraded their earpods to these? I love listening to music and podcasts everyday and I really want to try good quality earphones and these look really nice to me. I've used earpods for about 7 years and they sound a lot better than anything else I've used before that which were basically extremely cheap earphones in the range of like 10 dollars tops and the earpods are 30 dollars. Seeing that these Shure are about 100 dollars I wonder Are they really that much better? Yeah sound wise there are much better options for cheap like ZS10 Pro, Tin T2, etc. Their Se425, Se535, and Se846 models are also overpriced today although they did drop the prices a little bit.
