The SV100 definitely has a thinner sound (less bass.) However, when someone is singing with a band, they may want a sharper, thinnner sound to cut through the mix. So, this mic could have an application.

in your opinion what do you think is the better microphone brand. rode microphones, blue microphones,Audio-Technica microphones,Shure microphones .because I know a lot of people think blue microphones are not as great as everybody says they are. but i well say.hure SV100- does sound pretty good for 30 bucks.

trever pitts hmmmm, that’s a hard one! I would say out of those companies, Blue is my least favorite. But Out of those other 3 companies, I literally have a mic from each company that I use constantly and love. So i guess it kind of just depends. There are a lot of rode mics that I am pretty crazy about. My rank would probably go like this: 1st: Røde and Shure (tie... I know that is a bit of a cop out haha) 3rd: Audio-Technica 4th: Blue

Antoine Inniss me giving it a C- is just me saying that the sound is just slightly thin, and for the price it is just a little below average. I've used it with an adapter into my ipad but I found that you get a lot of self-noise from the mic. I'm not an expert so I'm not sure if it was because of the lack of pre-amp, if it was just because of the adapter, or what. But using it with an audio interface (Behringer UMC202HD) helped with the noise a whole lot.

the best review I can find on youtube maybe you know is there any reason to buy sv200 and not the sv100?
@AudioHotline
@AudioHotline 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! So the only differences that I know of is that the SV200 comes with a zipped carrying bag, and it comes with an XLR to XLR cable. The SV100 comes with the XLR TO 1/4in cable, no bag. I would personally rather have the carrying bag and XLR to XLR cable for an extra $5, but that is just my personal preference. If you have more use for a 1/4in cable, the SV100 is a good call. From what I have seen they are identical mics, just different accessories!

Hi Need your advice and help . I have connected Maono Au-A03 condenser mic to a Stranger C25 Music amplifier with the help of a 3.5 to 6.5 mm converter but the mic is not working through the amplifier. Pleaseeee Help I was exploring , do I need to buy a phantom power supply. If yes and if this will solve the issue any specification for the power supply ? Or else is it that i need to buy a dynamic mic like ShureV100 ?
@AudioHotline
@AudioHotline 2 жыл бұрын
I would assume that mic needs at least "plug in power" which is about 5v, if not full on 48v of Phantom Power. An amp like that wouldn't be able to supply the power the mic needs, so you are on the right track! I would say switching over to a dynamic mic is your best bet, especially when going into an amp like that. You could go with the Shure SV100, Shure SM48, Behringer XM8500, Behringer BA 85A.... There are quite a few good inexpensive dynamic mics and I have reviews on all of those mics I mentioned if you want to see which one you like most.

Yeah this is kind of a tough price category for big mic company’s like Shure, Audio Technica, etc. Because they are more focused on their higher end stuff but don’t want to miss out on the low end market. I usually urge people to at least save $100 for a mic and go for a reliable company like sennheiser or shure because they last, and sound great.

@AudioHotline
@AudioHotline Жыл бұрын
I am glad you like the mic and that you are educated on how to get the most out of it. What you’re saying isn’t wrong, but you are over looking who this mic is intended for… beginners. With this mic coming in at $30 I am giving advice to beginners in this review, not people that have much experience at all. I review products based off of the price and the potential customers that will use them. In fact, the whole point of my reviews is to help people get the most for their money. When it comes to mics, a big part of that is making sure the mic sounds good right out of the box, for the cost. To be blunt, I have been running a mic/audio channel for a while now and have been in audio for 18 years and I can tell you that 90-95% of people that are buying a mic at this price do NOT have the skills to make it sound better. A lot of them don’t try to make it better, and a bunch give up before they ever could gain/learn the skills to do so. It’s actually a point of tension/frustration for me… but people tend to give up when stuff isn’t relatively easy for them and I have seen it a lot in audio. Yes, I could absolutely make this mic sound solid in post, but that wouldn’t really be an honest review and that’s not what a majority of beginners are going to do with this mic. I like helping beginners find the best mic sound right out of the box, that way they will be inspired and stick with it.
