As a guy who's been playing Wangan Midnight for at least a good portion of my life, seeing that a mod like this exists in AC just, it fueled me to start saving up for AC and the setup. Experiencing a proper trip to the Wangan, the C1, C1 Belt, and even Yokohane. Thank you for introducing this mod. Now I just gotta find the money to even AFFORD AC and a setup

I've clocked in well over 1000km (5000km now) on this map and I'm not even near to fully knowing it yet. The C1 loop is by far my favourite part. That's also the main reason I don't know the entire highway system yet, at least 800km of all my kilometers are driven on there. Just going round and well. My favourite cars are the s2k, mr2 and the s30z. (s30z got removed) Oh and to any new people who also want to give it a go. You're very welcome by everyone, it's truly an amazing community, but PLEASE make sure to follow etiquette to the best of your ability.

Installed Assetto again, downloaded this mod and suddenly I had spent 3.5 hours driving on a highway with VR goggles on. Such an amazing experience, I reckon I'm gonna clock alot of hours driving in Tokyo.

Dude, this looks surreal. I'm gonna get this for sure. I actually used to play Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune games at the arcade for the longest time. I had tuned and saved up a black 820 bhp R34 and it would be like a cruise when others showed up with untuned cars or a competition when others showed up with fully tuned cars as well. As long as you didn't lose to anyone, you could keep driving for free. I would spend all weekend just doing laps and laps around the Wangan and C1. That expressway weirdly means a lot to me.

Do you think you'll ever make a review of the Mt. Akina pass mod? I get that it's a bit simple in terms of a mod, but the depth and detail of it is incredible and people have spend years shaving off tenths. There's even online touge teams where people practice together and battle other teams, there's a real online presence around it. There's also many servers running the track, especially Touge Life which ALWAYS has people driving the downhill variant of the track.

Detail!? You have never seen the real akina, which is called Yaseone route 33 of Mount Haruna. Route 33 is the exact opposite of the mod you call “realistic”. The real one is wider, shorter, steeper & the textures from the akina mod don’t reflect the real look of the road at all. This would more of a Touge Union history video instead of the actual road, which is fucking shit. Initial D arcade’s akina is better than this shit made by a fan. Let’s just wait until project Kaido makes his mount Haruna, because the only 2 people qualified for making mountain passes are him & skyflight

Yeah its tough that the cost barrier is so high to get the full PC/VR sim rig setup :/ I had to save up and buy in pieces over the past year but, super fun and very worth it in the end!!

WeejixDoWx i bought mine piece by piece. First the pc, just for some normal gaming, picked up steering wheel to get into sim racing, then picked up a headset for the hell of it (over the course of about 3-5 years). I have pretty mid tier stuff (gtx 1060, thrustmaster tmx, and the oculus cv1), but the experience is just so damn cool.

Yeah that's my only gripe with the server. The cars have horrible floaty handling. The models themselves are awesome and pretty decent interiors as well. But the handling is just way too floaty and can't feel what your front wheels are really doing until it's too late. The map is absolutely incredible though and keeps me coming back every time.

@@Trava715 oh yeah absolutely, map is way more important than the car pack. Sorry, wasn't tryna sound like a hater or put you down. The job you've done even so far is incredible. It's my favourite map in the whole game alongside Nordschleife. Just jarring is all coming from a Nord or Akina server as the cars respond a lot different and have less road feel. But hell, they're still far better than a lot of other mods I've tried over the years and plenty good enough for now! And the model details are on point and reflect tuner street built cars scene really well. Just takes a little bit to adjust and get used to is all :)
