Amazing video! I've thought in the past how a video like this was missing from the Steam Deck community. I'll be sure to give these a try. Also this is pretty basic, but Forza Horizon 4/5 are decent games for the Deck. I've also played Project Cars 2, though unfortunately it's delisted from Steam now. I'm also keeping an eye on Old School Rally for when it releases! Look's promising so far. Beyond that, I wish Forza Motorsport was SD compatible and that GT7 would get a PC port, but I guess that's asking for too much lol.

On the subject of the early stages of the career mode, the parts where you are driving used vehicles in low stakes circuits, I really want a lemons' rally type game. Like a racing game where you buy almost exclusively used or classic cars, outfit them within a certain budget, and customize them in a whole bunch of whacky ways would scratch that itch. I'm tired of games giving you super cars out the gate and throwing hundreds of vehicles at you, most of which you will never use. But a game that lets you really enjoy a car, customize it and make it your own, and generate a story through the career mode would be perfect

I love everything about this game except for the scenery and lack of traffic. Visual customization is also really lacking (except for decals ofc) just like every other FH. I still prefer FH5, but they could learn something from NFS's customization. Would love to see something like that in FH6 (it will never happen)

Widescreen fix wasn't working properly. It put cutscenes and hud into 1920x1080 but everything else was stretched

OG Grid is perfect as a game and runs perfect on the deck. Available on GOG so can be easily installed thru the Heroic launcher. Dirt 3 and OG Grid are my favorite CM games, and they're perfect for the Deck. Black Box NFS games are a must have! Also, PS2 emulation gets you Burnout 3, Gran Turismo 3 or 4, and a personal arcade favorite of mine, Shox.

I really liked the XP-based ranking in online races and FH3 is the last one that had it. Racing seemed more chill as you didn't necessarily have to finish 1st in order to be on top - you could make it up with clean driving. I played online quite a lot and I remember that I didn't meet a single wall-rider for months after I started playing. I vividly remember that when I finally met a wall-rider, I was shocked by the sight (btw I didn't really play multiplayer racing games before FH3, so I wasn't even familiar with the term). I think that this ranking system, which naturally encouraged clean driving, played a big role. I feel like racing etiquette went downhill after FH3, which can be backed up by the fact that they had to implement anti-wallriding and anti-greafing systems in FH4. Curious how much of an impact did the switch to a position-based ranking had on this. I know that not everyone likes the XP-based system, especially when they lose to someone who finished lower, or someone who didn't finish but banked XP by drifting. But I really like the chill nature of this system and I think that it really fits the chill nature of Horizon.

I love the racing school

This is the 2nd settings fix video I have tried. None of the settings fixed my issue. The problem I'm having is no matter what car I use if I use the brakes the car spins out of control. Forget trail braking! I bought better brakes and tried adjust the brake pressure etc. Nothing works. I need a video on how to fix the brake issue.

After 3 hours of precise tuning and coming back to this video, i finally have the best all-around dodge viper, thank you, hoki❤

I had the opposite experience with speedbreaker. If you use it while holding down the pedal, you'll come out of it doing 200km/h plus.

11:10 Personally i sometimes bring lower pi cars on purpose just because i dont really care about my times relative to other players. Sometimes a car is more fun with lower quality components

IMO one of the only bad parts about fh5 is the open world because there is other games that overshadow it. It’s not even that bad

Once the police pursuit starts you cannot exit the game, you have to evade to get the exit prompt. Thats probably they added fast travel

Btw dirt rally 2.0nis amazing in deck, it may be more simm-y but I love popping in and doing a quick time trial every once in a while. It controls great

what an amazing game. you are even able to finish races in under 5 seconds and dominate the leaderboards

as someone who lives in australia and on the gold coast where surfers paradise is located, the game is actually great. one problem i have with it is that they say “ we are gonna take the great ocean road to surfers” that trip would take 3-4 days with no breaks ☠️☠️

I remember people hating on fh4 for its map and a bunch of other things. Now everyone loves it. It’s kinda funny how quickly and easily people change their mind when the latest game drops for them to hate on. On another note though I think event lab is crazy. I really hope that horizon follows what halo did and puts player made event lab tracks into the online playlist for everyone to drive on. That would be amazing, add a little variety to the pretty repetitive race track list that hardly ever gets new additions added

Don't worry about the multiplayer everyone just used the porche and bmw and it got boring all the fun was in the story

Eh Horizon 5 seems too commercialized imo but Horizon 1? Holy cow did that game get something right. The lively cutscenes, the varied characters, the underground atmosphere of street racing, the Horizon bosses. 5 might have a good upgrading system, weather and more varied races, but the actual “Horizon Vibe” went downhill after 2.

I tried this but whenever I counter-steer the car seems to steer too much in the other direction and I seem to fight a snaking counter-steer. It just gets worse until I get a tank slapped on and spin out.

I play fh4 every day

Edinburgh alone makes this game better than FH5. Even the more rural areas in FH4 look more dense and immersive. FH5 is just so bland and boring. The map feels empty and lifeless. I play these games mostly to get immersed in role playing, cruising around in cars that I like, rather than the racing. And for that purpose, FH5 was actually such a massive downgrade. I really hope that FH6 has more built-up urban areas, not just miles and miles of empty roads with a backdrop of lifeless fields and deserts.

idk mane sounds like you dont know about the glitch in need for speed online racing glitch to get out the map to drive freely and make your own games up out the 4 other players
