Seth, just wanted to continue to give you props man, as you are not only a terrific teacher (even and especially when things don't work), but to the point, organized, and include all the important information for someone starting out. I can't thank you enough. Just purchased my first strobe (end of 2023 - as sales were tremendous) and wanted to at least toy with the concept of ghosting/rear curtain sync - which I did tonight. I don't have a studio, and did the work outside at sundown. Started with a "dark frame" within sync speed - and several things made themselves very apparent quickly. 1. What power of my strobe would stop the action (t0.1), 2. How to focus in the dark at the end of movement (you cover this at 22:34 min - thanks), 3. focal length easiest to work with depending on the motion desired, and 4. the balancing act you allude to - aperture / flash duration / power needed to get the blur and stop the motion. Clearly, there will be a lot of practice in the future before I get the looks I'm going for, but this really provided a great starting point. Have a happy and successful 2024, brother!

I LOVE this shoot, Seth. It's like a little encyclopedia of ghosting techniques and ideas. What a great reference, and the results are VERY nice. Casey does a great job, and has striking features that make the end result even better. Nice!

Having experimented with shutter drag and light painting back the 70-80's I have you by a few years. But with the equipment available these days, you got me at an advantage. Oh for the day that I'm re-equiped !!! :{)

I bought my first camera in December. Since then I have watched a ton of KZbin videos! I do not believe that any of them has inspired me the way that this one has! Thank You! I look forward to anything you create and release on this subject in the future! -- Aaron

Do you continue to use AF-C or just get focus and then let her move or do you pan with her as I am having a hard time telling. But, thank you this was very helpful. I use back button focus on my Sony A7IV and have been trying to replicate this and still struggling

Such a disappointment that the video was getting froze from time to time. Mainly because this is the best tutorial I found. If the freezing thing wasn’t happening, it would have been absolutely amazing! One more thing! I wanted to freeze three facial expressions in one exposure! I only have one speedlight. Can I get it done with streetlights in a dark road or something?

@@LastXwitness I think it's KZbin if you don't stay active from day one, they don't spread it to other viewers. You could make a new google account just to see if it get traction even using some of your videos on the first youtube account.
